Hi Friends,

I have a query centred on applying for Canada PR under the Canadian Experience Class Route. I had worked in Canada for 7 months(between Dec 2015 and July 2016) and close to 7 months now (Jun 2018 till Date). Towards this I plan to claim points against the 1 year Canadian Work Experience within the last 3 years as both the instances of work were for the same IT Services Company ( different clients one in Kitchener and the other in Toronto ). While filling up the Express Entry Application there is a question " Have you been working full time for the employer on their current work permit for at least one year". This has me confused since both my work-experiences were on 2 different Work Permit's. The first one expired in 2017 and the second Work Permit was granted in June 2018 and hence both the experiences are thus not under the current Work Permit even though for the same Company within the last 3 years(with break in between). The UCI for both Work Permits were the same however one was NOC Code 2173 and the other 2174. Any help towards clearing the paradox would be greatly appreciated. Also for Canadian Experience Class does the Application have to be submitted any differently.

There is no requirement that the experience be on a single work permit or that it be continuous, so you can answer "yes."

As for the 2 different NOCs... if you are doing different jobs, this is (potentially) to be expected. If you are doing exactly the same job (in terms of duties and responsibilities), then chose the NOC that best matches your actual duties and responsibilities.

Hi Jes, Indebted to you for your response. 2 more follow up questions.

1) " Have you been working full time for the employer on their current work permit for at least one year" For this question should I then answer Yes as they mention current WP where I have only 7 months. My previous experience was on a different Work Permit which had got expired 6 months or so before.
2) My two WP NOC Codes were 2173 (Software Engineers) and 2174 (Computer Programmers .....) for the same employer. These are both almost same and complementary and the different choices were only down to the Company Attorney's Discretion. Even the work I did was same. Will this lead to an issue with calculating the Points in your opinion.

Thanks for all your help so far.
