Finally became citizen today 12/12/18, after a long wait.
Oath ceremony at Scarborough, 8:30am.

Hey I sent an inquiry to my local office after few weeks the CIC agent sent them a message. Looks like there is no response from CIC Local office yet. The next course of action would be involving MP or Send online Inquiry Form. Do you guys think it is beneficial bombarding them with these status update queries or wait for few more days?

I really don't know what the best line of action would be (My application is near 13 months since being received).
After readying through the comments by other users on this forum, I realized we only can wait (and send inquires every couple of months to see if there is any change).
I think we are going through denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance stages by the manner CIC is handling our files.

Hello All,

Finally the journey has come to an end. Myself and my wife we took oath and became a citizen on Decmber13th 2018. Thanks! everyone for helping and supporting us through this forum.

Good luck to everyone else and don't lose hope. Eventually it all works out.

Hi Admin,
Please update, we successfully finish our 13 months journey towards becoming a Canadian Citizen, we had our Oath Ceremony today in Mississauga, the judge told us in the past 3 months 11000 we're granted Canadian Citizenship and 4000 more will be granted towards the year end before December Holidays.

Our citizenship journey came to conclusion yesterday Dec 17th when we took at the oath of citizenship at Mississauga office. The application status is now Complete. Admin, please update the status.

Today, My family and I took the oath of citizenship. Finally, the journey to become a Canadian that started 13 months ago has come to an end. Thank God! To all that are still waiting, I will say the journey requires patience. I will provide my timeline hereunder for information and record purposes. Admin please note that we are a family of 4.

1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on November 9, 2017.
2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on January 3, 2018.
3. We started processing your application on January 11, 2018.
4. We sent you a notice on September 13, 2018 to appear and write the citizenship test on September 27, 2018 at 1:35 PM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.
5. We sent you a notice on December 1, 2018 to appear and take the oath of citizenship at the citizenship ceremony to be held on December 18, 2018 at 9:00 AM. The notice you will receive will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.

Hello All,

I became a Canadian Citizen yesterday. My ceremony was in Mississauga at 12:30PM. I would guess and say there were many people there that are part of this forum. Congratulations to them all.

I had 3 guests with me. The lineup of applicants to go into the hall to hand in your paperwork started around 12:30 pm. We were 105 people. It took about half an hour for all the applicants to hand it their initial paperwork and PR card and get a seat. By the way, your seat number is on your Oath invite form in the address box on the bottom right corner.

Each new citizen got a Canadian Charted of Rights poster, a Canada Maple Leaf pin, a book with some information and special offers, a flag and off course the Citizenship Certificate. We were told that we should be able to apply for our passports by Friday, 2 business days.

After the ceremony was over, we had a chance to take photos with the judge as well as our own family.

Congrats to all applicants who have taken the oath, and I am hopeful for those who have applied that they will see their application progress.

I applied for my passport in the late afternoon on 12 December and received my brand spanking new passport today ! Only 5 business days later - I applied at a Passport office in St. Catharines - normal processing, NOT express!
