PCC from India for non resident indians!

Hello guys

A bit of query here.Im a UAE resident applying for express entry to canada from dubai.I wonder if the cic would accept a pcc directly from india or is it mandatory to obtain it from the consulate in dubai itself?Any response or guidance on the aforementioned would be much appreciated.

It’s advisable you obtain a PCC from the Indian Embassy/Consulate in UAE. Alternatively if the pcc you obtained from India was from a PSK, that should be OK as well.

You need to visit BLS branch with the forms, they will scribble on your form and then you need to visit the CGI or embassy(works till 12 noon only).

From there they will send you back to BLS for form submission.

Once you are in embassy or CGI as them how many days it will take to get the PCC, they will check your passport in their system and let you know.

I got it in 1 day from CGI.

thanks for the revert.I got my certificate issued from the commisoner of police in kerala,trivandrum.Its a bit of a hitch for me to obtain a pcc from the consulate in dubai.WHat is a pcc from psk if may i ask?

PSK is Passport Seva Kendra which issues PCC in a similar format to the one issued by Indian Embassy/Consulate. That is accepted by IRCC. I would advise you obtain one from the UAE through BLS.
Firstly, you will need to issue a UAE PCC. They charge around 100-150 aed.
Next, you can apply at BLS for the Indian PCC. They charge 150 aed for PCC. Fill out the forms and submit a copy of the UAE PCC to initiate the process. It takes about 7 days to get the PCC if you have any passport issued previously from India, i.e. a verification was previously done. If not it may take longer, at least 40 days or more.
This is the process to follow if you're applying from Abu Dhabi. Kindly follow the steps mentioned by @tanmaisneha if you're applying from Dubai.

Even though my passport was issued in dubai previously, they still made me fill the personal particulars form. While my wife didn't have to and she was told 5 days, while mine they said 30 days.
Anyone who has done PCC recently in Dubai and had to fill out personal particulars form in triplicate, please advise how many days it took for your PCC?
