Progress bar status
The progress bar in ur profile is movable or fixed. For Example 5 days ago u saw 20 days left for completion of ur application . If u check today still show 20 days left or 15 days left on progress bar and color increased or no?

I’m not sure about the colour of the bar whether or not it changes. The bar itself, though, it’s merely a countdown tool toward the 6 month-mark since you applied. I’m wondering if they thought the applicants were dumb enough who did not know how to do this “complicated” math and figure out how many days had passed since the submission of the e-APR or how many days were left to reach that so-called estimated completion date. In a nutshell, not that helpful!

I’m certain the progress bar been implemented to try and reduce the number of people calling before the 6 month mark.

Now Cic can simply say to any caller “it hasn’t been six months yet as per your progress bar, please wait till that reaches completion”

I agree it’s not helpful to applicants but I understand why they’ve done it when you see people freaking out on this forum when it’s only been 2 months since their AoR.

I ordered GCMS notes twice, and yet no ghost updates so far. I will receive the second note around Jan 7. My 6 months mark is on Jan 15, so it is likely that the PPR comes first.

It is not that I am complaining about the lack of ghost updates, but I wanted to see a little more 'action'. I am in this weird mix of anxiousness and... boredom maybe? In 5 months the only progress I noticed in my application was the IP2.

That lack of updates is really upsetting. The ghost update made my day yesterday. Hope you get one in the upcoming days Guster!

Got ghost update yesterday. My Aor is July, 16. IP 2 since November 6.
I do hope to get PPR as a Christmas present

hey my timeline is same, aor 16th july and ip2 6th nov. I got ghost update on 14th december... hoping for good news before new year!

When did your move to IP2 happen, on the day you ordered or another day ?

Did you see "Application/profile updated" before you saw the Progress bar in your profile?

It's not for progress bar. I got progress bar on Thursday morning. I also got ghost update on Friday, December 14.

(which is good news)
Most of the times, for old applications, means that it's finalizing.

But from previous cases..file approval and ghost updates coincide if no ADR involved.

Yep. I only put that "if" because I see people with applications under 2 months old saying that they got a ghost update and wondering if their ppr is coming. For us from July it is a very good sign indeed.

I agree. August bio-metric applicants have different ball game altogether. They got ghost while eligibility met..strangely..they started with ip2. Again many r reporting background check start or ip1 as ghost updates too. Fingers crossed for us. A lot of July applicants got ghost on Friday. Santa is coming to the town with PPR..hohoho

You will get it this week hopefully. You r CEC. Two weeks ago Ottawa was issuing PPR to CEC only. Your timeline might be different from us.
