I have the following message:
We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.
You may not hear from us for a little while, this is normal. Most of the progress on your application happens closer to your estimated completion date.

I dont think so. It is purely based on the time elapsed and the recent activity on the case.
Some have the following message that is when your application has any recent updates:
We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.
You may not hear from us for a little while, this is normal. Most of the progress on your application happens closer to your estimated completion date.
And others have this message when application is sitting on a pile for a long time:
We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.
Make sure you read your messages and take action when we ask you to. This will help move the application process along.

and then on Nov 14th they requested biometrics and Schedule A(both done now)
I wanna know what stage I am in now (IP1 or IP2)
here is the content of my application:

Review of additional documents We are reviewing the additional documents you provided.
Interview You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.
Biometrics Completed.
Background check We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.
Final decision Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

it has been like that for almost a month now
It doesnt matter if you are travelling or not. I did my medicals in a week advance. It depends upon the postal services and the transmission by the medical officer.
Hey, Sorry for the delayed response. Was not active in here. The status is still the same for me. I'm in still in IP1.

I just noticed you are in IP2. That's pretty cool. PPR near somewhere.
