Only time will tell if this bar is useful or not for newer applicants. If the bar moves any time the application is touched it would be very useful, more so than ip1 ip2 etc. As of now the June applicants can forget abt the bar as it offers nothing for them.

A person with sept 1 AOR , who got ppr yesterday also got progress bar in his account showing nmbr of days left till 6 month mark..
This bar is useless.. only for the convenience of cic.. now they'll say if called that look at ur bar and don't call us before its completion

And the other side of story is that one person from March sees his bar showing date of 8 Sep as completion date. So his PPR is 3 months overdue according to the bar.

And so I'm back ;) with no news of PPR, but with gcms notes..
My timeline
AOR Jun 3
Ip1 Jun 15
IP2 Oct 15
Ghost Oct 18

As expected gcms notes says
Final : Approved,
The last update happened on 17th of October with the Officer comments as approved. RFV.

But, there is a new secondary office added to the list and that's "New Delhi". The date when this was added wasn't mentioned, but it wasn't there in previous notes. Notes was ordered on Nov 11th and received yday. (when I called the agent on Dec 4, after crossing 6 months she mentioned my file is still at Sydney).

My question is to the ppl who have been sitting approved at Sydney. Can you please confirm if there's an addition to your secondary offices too.

So far, actions taken
Called agent : he has written a mail to Sydney requesting action.
Raised CSE : again escalation took place
So far, both of them didn't yield into anything fruitful.
And that's it
@ishq74 @shishirkona tagging you in case you want to chime in
Hi,
I just want to know what happens in secondary office? I mean why they allocate the files to secondary office? And where from the PPR mail comes primary/secondary office?

I haven't ordered notes so I can't say about the secondary office but mine was approved on October 18th and up to yesterday when I called it was still sitting in Sydney.
She said she would contact Sydney but clearly nothing comes from that if it didn't work for you.
I'm not sure there is anything left to do but wait.
I might raise a CSE next week. I haven't decided.
All plans are pretty much ruined now so it'll just be a mad scramble if we ever get it before the meds are up.

My guess is secondary offices are our LVOs who issue our PPRs

My CSE response was that the office has been contacted for further steps and if I don't hear anything by 04/04/2019 I can raise a CSE again

Crazy right! Just shows how ‘useful’ the bar is going to be when it does appear - I thought it would at least be like GCMS notes, showing a tentative completion date that the officer has input based on his/her assessment. Turns out at CIC, the different departments don’t talk to each other - I wouldn’t care how an organisation functions in the usual scheme of things, but this is anything BUT the usual scheme of things :p Now to wait for my GCMS notes (early Jan by the looks of it) before I know what the REAL progress on my account is...

+1, I can see 2 new secondary visa offices, in comparison with previous(September) notes: Moscow and OSC - Operations Support Centre

And the award for most futile and over hyped utility ever developed by any organization across the globe goes to....

“The Progress Bar”
Truer words were never spoken!!! I’m feeling so cheated that the only feedback we could give in the survey was that no progress bar could be seen - wish we could have completed the survey in earnest and shown them that even when the progress bar IS seen, it’s like the proverbial ‘Emperor’s new clothes’ - nothing within or without :p

After reading this I actually redid the survey on a different browser choosing I could see the progress bar. They ask us whether the progress bar is useful or not. Ofcourse I chose no. Then there is a text box for comments and I said

Merely adding 6 months to AOR date is not showing "progress". if you want to show progress give actual details of the steps in between and a "real" estimate of the process. The gimmicks don't help the candidates. Show some empathy to candidates please.

In the next page I "strongly disagreed" with usefulness of the said progress bar.

Request to everyone, please do the survey and let them know that this thing has zero advantage and utility to the candidates. Not sure it will help but we need to make our voice heard. Thanks!

Sounds like a plan! I’ll do the survey from the hubby’s account as I last did it from mine, just to ensure I can access it easily. I also raised a CSE under the ‘Technical Issue’ category stating thus:
“I received a mail from CIC at 13:30 hours EST today that my application has been updated with a progress bar that will show an estimated completion date based on the current processing times. However, till now, no such progress bar is actually showing in my account. I believe this is a technical issue since the mail was clearly addressed to me in person, and came into both my inbox as well as my husband’s inbox, as a designated representative on my account. Clearly two mails could not have been a mistake. Request you to look into this issue and advise by when the progress bar will be up and running for my account. Thanking you in advance for your kind consideration.”
At least they’ll know they’re sending the mail to people without putting the back end in place! What a sham(e)!!!
