Applying for Study Permit - Tasks & Documents

Hi All

New to the forum so please do forgive me after being a long time lurker

I want to make an application for my Cousin to go to Canada after his studies.
I understand that ultimately he will have to know the ins and outs of the application but let's say for argument's sake that this is me doing the application.

He is 18 years old and currently doing his final CBSE +2 Exams (which start in March 2019)
He should get his results back in May 2019.
He is also a dependant on his father as he does not work.

I wanted to apply for the September 2019 intake.

He has not yet done his IELTS either so I am guessing that September 2019 is not possible so I think December 2019 is more realistic.

Can someone confirm to me all the steps as it is very sporadic on the forum and unclear as to what happens.

This is my understanding of the procedure;

1. Have IELTS 6.5 (6 or above in each module)
2. Completed +2 Marks (Year 12)
3. Send Transcripts to WES or IQAS
4. Once received by them; apply to DLC of choice
5. When applying to DLC provide what documents are required? (IELTS, Transcripts - is there anything else?)
6. Await Letter of Acceptance from School
7. Obtain Further Documents such as IELTS, Police Report, Medical Report, TOR, Proof of Funds, Tuition Fee Paid, GIC of around $10,200 - $15,000 cad, 6 Months Bank Statements, Birth Certificate, Driving Licence, Aadhar Card, Passport, Digital Photos,
8. Provide Cover Letter, SOP, Study Plan, Letter of Recommendation (3)
9. Dependant on Father so documents to support such as; Letter or Support Financially, 3 years income tax return, 12 months business bank statements, 12 months, weekly shop intake bank deposit slips, salary from business to personal bank 12 months, fixed deposit, land registry of shop business, 3 months invoices of sales.

Is there anything else that would benefit in including, if so what else should I include?

In regards to point 5, 8 and 9
is there anything I need to look out for when gathering all the documentation.

I want to make sure all angles are covered and no stone is unturned.

in point 5,see college or uni requirements and send what needed. Some of them require birth certificate too and from DLC you meant DLI, right?

There is no December 2019 intake. January intakes are uncommon in Canada but you will find some universities that offer January intakes.

Refer to the university's website for exact English requirements. However, IELTS 6.5 with no module less than 6.0 is a general rule of thumb around universities.

WES and IQAS are solely for immigration (Express Entry and Canadian Experience Class) programs. This step is not required and will raise concerns.

7. Obtain Further Documents such as IELTS, Police Report, Medical Report, TOR, Proof of Funds, Tuition Fee Paid, GIC of around $10,200 - $15,000 cad, 6 Months Bank Statements, Birth Certificate, Driving Licence, Aadhar Card, Passport, Digital Photos,

Police report not required. Medical report may be required depending on your location and travel history. No idea what a TOR is. Driving license is not necessary to submit at all.

8. Provide Cover Letter, SOP, Study Plan, Letter of Recommendation (3)

Assuming the primary applicant is applying to bachelor programs, no letter of recommendation is required. LORs are not required to be submitted in visa application. Cover Letter, SOP and Study Plan are the same. Your study plan is important and shouldn't exceed a page in length.

Hi Yes, after doing a bit more, I saw the breakdown and would be good to aim for 7 in all modules just as a buffer.

Is this 100% accurate? Going on the WES website, there is a section;

A credential evaluation is a comparison of your academic accomplishments to standards in the U.S. or Canada. This report helps institutions like schools, employers, licensing boards, or immigration authorities better understand your educational background.

The applicant would be applying for a Diploma as above picture.

I have seen some Study Plans that are indeed a page in length but also SOP's that exceed 1 page and are usually 2 - 3 pages detailing the reasons, along with benefits and ties to Home country etc.

That is why it would be good to get a good consensus of document lists which then I will upload into a google document and make available for future reference with editing rights.

Again - all this information is appreciated, the more input from previous applicants who have been successful, the better it is for others applying.
