Study permit delay

I have applied for study permit on 7th November through a VAC and the application is received by IRCC on 12th December.
Still no update from them. My class will begin on 3rd January.
Yesterday I had sent an email to IRCC mentioning my VISA application situation. They responded saying that "Your application is currently being reviewed for secondary clearances. Delays during secondary clearances are out of our control as we are required to coordinate with external authorities.

Our office will contact you as soon as the review is completed, or as soon as more information, documents or an interview is required.

Delays in the processing of visa applications are always disappointing to all concerned, but rest assured that all efforts are being made to ensure efficient and expeditious processing of all applications."


Should I file a web form? If the normal processing time exceeds then applicants are allowed to file a web form.

Delays happen a lot .. but you should file a web from when the application passes the normal processing time .
I’ve applied on OCT10 and I’m still waiting .

I did check and the processing time is 35 days. But what did ircc mean to say about secondary clearances? I got funding from UVic and also I did show my father's bank accounts as financial support.

I did file one but for a different reasons not for delay .. They asked for additional information 2 weeks ago without giving me an address to send the additional information so I filed one and 3 days later I was contacted by the embassy and given the address. So I sent it to them the past week and yet the final decision hasn’t been made. Now my application has exceeded the normal processing time but mostly because additional information were required that’s why I didn’t file one for delay. I’ll file one next week :)

Mine too. I have tried to contact IRCC ( Singapore ), they keep saying same thing again and again that secondary clearances are checked out of my application.
I haven't booked my flight yet. Even, I am unable to fix where I would live ehen

Same situation. i haven't booked my flight yet. Maybe it will be necessary change College starts....
