Help! Can someone shed some light?
I received LOA from TRU for MBA program (September 2019)
Applied 25 Nov 2018
LOA received 7 December 2018.

I applied to Ryerson, U Ottawa, U Windsor, and TWU.

To be honest, TRU AND TWU were my back up options. I want to wait and see if I will get accepted into Ryerson, Windsor, and Ottawa. But TRU says I have to accept/decline within 21 days. If I DEFER acceptance, does that mean I accepted? Can I defer to later intake and decline if I get accepted into Ryerson/Ottawa?

Need your advice guys.

Good afternoon, I am new on this platform and will like to ask certain questions here. I submitted my application on the 7th is September few days after the application was open to University of Victoria and University of Calgary. I applied for Masters of Educational Psychology at University of Victoria and Masters of Science (Thesis Based) Counseling Psychology at University of Calgary. I have a bachelors degree in Counseling Psychology from Babcock University in Nigeria with a second class upper(4.17) out of 5.0. I will like to know what my chances are, because according to both schools, it is a competitive course so they review all applications at once and then send the offer letter in February 2019.
For the Masters program in University of Calgary I reached out to a potential supervisor even though the school said they’ll assign successful candidates to a supervisor, but I felt having a prior conversation will aid the admission process. Please is there anyone from the two schools or have any idea has to what my chances are. I know nobody can really tell but from experience I will like to have answers please. Thank you

You have a very good profile. Are you a first class student? Without Saskatchewan getting your complete referent's letters, you application won't be forwarded yo the graduate committee for processing, try to hasten your referents to the letters. Also, you can check Windsor, Ottawa, Manitoba, Memorial, Concordia university
Hello, I am from Nigeria seeking admission into University Of Calgary and University of Victoria Masters of Counseling Psychology and Masters of Educational Psychology respectively, I graduated with a 4.17/5.0 in Bachelor Of Science Counseling Psychology. What are my chances of getting admission?

You can't defer what you've not accepted. And if you don't accept it before than that date/on that date, you is going to lose the admission cause it means you ain't interested.

You can accept and apply with it, and later decide to go to a different school. It has worked for quite numbers of previous applicants

Hello,

You have a very good CGPA. Outside assumptions, its only the school that handle's the facts but you stand a chance and contacting a potential supervisor at hand(if the supervisor agrees to supervise you) makes admission process and funding easy to an applicant. Another thing outside your CGPA that greatly aid admission is the "Letter of Intent" written, it has to be intuitive and clever as many previous applicants got admissions into Masters programs despite a low average CGPA.

With your CGPA, potential supervisor(if applicable), a good letter of intent, admission is most likely guaranteed.

When is the deadline dates for these schools?

Hi people. I got an admission to memorial university master of philosophy for 2019 september. In the process of admitting the offer. I would like to ask. If I apply for student visa this month and get it for example until june. Am I able to go Canada 2-3 months before study and work until lessons begin? Is this possible? And also I did not understand anything about visa procedure. I should first get study visa then study permit? Thanks beforehand

Hello Guler,

Congratulations on your admission. Its possible to enter Canada 2-3 months after getting an approval if you can justify your reasons(you might be ask why entering Canada so early or not by the CBSA at the airport but I have a friend who entered Canada 5 months to resumption without questioning at the airport)

If you enter Canada before your resumption, you can't work otherwise your chances of a PGWP is ruined except until your program commerces before you can work.

Getting a study permit or visa are same procedure/thing when it comes to securing an entering to Canada through studies. After applying for a study visa and upon approval, passport will be stamped and the study permit will be issue at the airport.

Its advisable to gather your documents appropriately this December and apply in January. Reasons being to take time to put up a convincing application and as at that, the VOs will go for the Winter holiday

Thanks for the response. Will contemplate it. How are your applications going if you don’t mind my asking? I remember you said you were applying to U of Manitoba. Have you heard back from them?

Thanks so much. In this case its better to go some weeks before september. My family will join me after some months so I dont want to put them under risk. About visa I am confident as my two kids and spouse will stay here. I will apply alone. I heard that its better for them to come after some months by visitor visa and apply for work permit there. And we have home and jobs here. So I think my chance is high in this case. Hope everything will go smooth. Thanks again so much.By the way, I translate game of thrones now into our language. It was weird to get answer from John Snow:)

Haha.. I might as well just fall in love with you if you follow G.O.T..

Its good to know you confident about your application. Either way good move in using your family as home ties. In most cases, a month is a good timing to travel for acclimatization.
