Good morning everyone. I'll clock 6 months on the 16th of December and this morning got ADR update on proof of funds in addition to the famous progress bar mail. The thing is this last week I just changed a chunk of my POF to dollars and put it in my dorm account. Do I have to give a six month bank statements?
Yes provide 6 months statements.

Guys dnt panic.... I received my PPR yesterday but i still got this email today.
So good luck atleast they did something to answer so many questions related to timelines.
Agreed! I was planning to support the current petition on FB and the proposed Twitter campaign (both brilliant efforts to my mind!) till I got this mail. Now, with the clear evidence of CIC’s attempt to answer our questions on timelines, it seems like it’s better to wait till we see what the progress bar looks like, what information it provides and what the estimated timelines look like now. There’s admittedly a high possibility it’s a sham (as @cansha astutely pointed out) but where visas are concerned, any transparency whatsoever must be appreciated. Also, I’m worried it means the 6 month timeline will no longer be respected since they’re stating the progress bar will factor in estimated processing times as per the latest rounds of applications. Ah well...12th Dec ain’t so far away...

I will speculate three more things on this one. After re-reading the email this is my guess.

1. The email says the progress bar shows the time elapsed since we received your application. Now we need to see whether they use AOR date to do so or R10 check date. My guess is they will still be using AOR date.

2. The last line is "We’ll let you know when the progress bar is available for your application." It appears to me that this update may not be available for all applications at one go. It may appear for only certain kind of applications. If that is not the case not sure why they would put this line in email. It may mean nothing.

3. "It will give you an estimated completion date based on our latest estimated processing times.". I think we need to keep an eye whether they are planning to update the estimated processing time. It has been showing 6 months since beginning of the year. It may be an attempt of changing this "6 month" window to something else as they move to 2019.

More than anything else I will be keeping an eye on the processing time on 12 Dec and hope and pray they just don't move the timeline to something else.

Sound reasoning @cansha! I’m also worried about the estimated processing timelines being updated from 6 months to god-knows-what since I got this communication :( Let’s hope our worst fears are not realised...

That means I will include a letter of explanation stating the reason why a huge sum of dollars was deposited in my account right?
You haven't given enough detail to discern right or wrong but if it sounds logical to you do that. As a thumb rule any large deposit should have some sort of explanation about the source.

I had my POF in naira, this past two months s have seen a steady depreciation in the value of the naira so decided to convert my naira into dollars and place in my dorm account. If am too give a 6 months statement, it will show that I had the dollars put into my dorm account recently.

Thanks alot cansha. To be honest I don't know if I should be happy or sad. The adr shows that they have looked at my file recently but it also means another probably long wait for them to review the documents I will provide. Really don't think I will be that excited when the PPR finally arrives.

Take the small wins mate. My file hasn't been touched after 07 August. I understand your point of no excitement even when final PPR arrives.
POF ADRs are generally quick checks so hopefully the delay will not be a lot.
