Guys, I got a ghost update. When I checked my account this morning, I saw the status got updated; however, there was no explicit changes. I hope that means something good!

Nice. I hope it was the approval on your file. I would suggest to call CIC and tell them that you got an update on your file but nothing has actually changed and ask for the reason of the update. They usually tell you why you got an update on your file.

My question is what does this message implies? Is this Security Screening?

Not sure, but I would say it is SS indeed. When I called CIC the agent told me my case would finish by Jan 15, which is 6 months after the AOR. The fact that the agent did not specified a date to you is a warning sign...

That is my fear as well. You can request GCMS or CBSA to know more about your profile.

Hi Everyone,

I called CIC and the agent was very helpful and told me the current status of my application.

As per him,
My background checks have been started ; in that criminality has passed and Security has not been initiated yet.
However he said, that eligibility is under progress. I ordered GCMS notes a while ago and as per the notes Eligibility was recommended passed. So i am not sure as to why the difference. I don't know if thats a good sign or not.

Here is my timeline,
CEC inland
AOR : July25th
MEP/IP1 : August 17th
IP2 : December 6th (Ghost Update)
Eligibility : Recommend Passed (as per Notes) / In Progress (as per agent)
Criminality : Not started (as per notes ) / Passed (as per agent)
Security : Not started

Any suggestions are welcomed. Thanks in advance

It means the same thing. The agent says it's in progress because an officer hasn't "passed the eligibility yet. It's the case analyst that recommended passed.

This is a new one. I've never seen a message like this before. You might want to order CBSA and GCMS notes to confirm if you're indeed in security screening.

It may also not mean anything since you got an ADR for passport renewal.

Yes looks like. This is the generic response from them if you are in SS. Do you have recent GCMS notes?

They do- In case you are in SS this is the reply to your query on status of application. I have been doing lot of research on SS as I am myself fearing the SS. I have not mailed them yet. Ordered GCMS recently.
