I just received a request for additional info by CIC. My spouse has lived in the USA for a period of 1 year and hence they require a FBI Clearance Certificate.

Is this the same as the identity history summary check provided here: https://www.fbi.gov/services/cjis/identity-history-summary-checks ?

Did you guys upload an electronic copy or mail a hard copy to CIC ? The FBI website states that receiving the hard copy could take months so I am hoping there is a better way ?

We actually went through a 3rd party vendor that I found here in the New Orleans area (on the link above, there's a section on "FBI Channelers").

They digitally scanned his fingerprints and then emailed us the results/certificate same day. We printed it out and sent the FBI report with our application.

Assuming your spouse is outside of the US, going directly through the FBI may be the only way to get it done. I would call and ask if they can take a digital upload via the Case Specific Enquiry form, if that's the quickest way to do it.

We used the above link. From my understanding it is an electronic version through the FBI without going through 3rd party. My husband had to go get fingerprints taken at a police station and sent it off. We had the results back within a week. They will email you the PDF as well as mail you a hard copy to follow. We just included the PDF in our application since it is the same thing

Thanks all for the quick response. I also need to submit the PCC for my PA from her home country. Can the PCC be scanned and uploaded or do we have to mail in the physical copy ?
