Hi All
I applied for my citizenship in last week of aug 2018.We are going to india on Tuesday dec 4th.yesterday I got a update in my ecas saying that they have send us an correspondence on nov 29th and don't reply until we receive it bla bla .
After discussing with some friends who applied for citizenship they said they are basically going to ask for for my fingerprints by mail. Now I am confused
I will be in india by the time mail arrives.
Some people have advised me to call customer care on Monday and request them to send an email and get the finger prints done on Monday itself.
Others say i should simply get the fingerprints without the letter.
I don't know what to do because I am not sure whether it is fingerprint request or something else. Please help

It is very likely that it's just a fingerprint request, however there is a small chance that it could be something else. Call center would be the best recourse given the limited time you have left before your trip. Best to call them ask if they can tell you what it is, and what to do given you're travelling. Alternatively, you could use the webform, however it is slower.

I *think* you may be able to get an extension to provide the fingerprints in the worst case. From what I remember, you're required to provide them within 30 days from the letter. Also, fingerprints are typically directly sent to the RCMP, and instructions (for the fingerprinting agency) on how to do so are on the letter from IRCC. So it is necessary to take the letter with you for fingerprinting.

Thanks for the quick reply. I will try to get an email from the call center agent if possible on Monday and go for the fingerprints as well. In case I can't do it the only option Ieft is for them to delay it as I am only coming back at end of January.
