Hi all,

We're in the Express Entry pool (CRS 440) but on Monday, got a letter inviting stating "The Government of Ontario is interested in considering you for nomination under its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) through Express Entry.". I see it costs $1500 just to submit for consideration but we're wondering if we should go that route as we're right at the edge of the last 3 pulls (SO CLOSE!). Does anyone have insight into going the PNP route? If we have all of our ducks in a row, is it likely we'd get the nomination (and thereby the invite to apply for PR)? $1500 is a lot to gamble with.

TIA!

Dude, if you got PNP nomination, just go for it. Rarely applicants are getting nominations. You will have some days to file your nomination, so until then wait for CRS to drop but do collect your documents and be ready for OINP.

But is it a nomination or just an invite to be considered? That's what I'm trying to ascertain. 4 weeks ago 440 would have gotten us the PR invite.

And are the docs the same needed for PR? We're all set with those...just waiting for our number to hit.

They did, which had me surprised too. So maybe this gets us into a pool for next year?
Yeah you will be counted for the next year's quota. Anyways 440 is not a good score right now. Take the noi and apply for the ontario program.

Thanks @navinball another question if you know it. It'll cost us $1500 to submit for noi/pnp. Assuming we get the nom, will we then have to pay for the PR application once we get the invite?

At the moment, no one knows if CRS will decrease to 440. So I suggest you to go for the PNP route. As others are saying, many persons are wishing for a NOI so, you are a lucky one for having received one this week :)
Good luck!
