Long Post Alert!!

My Mom’s temporary resident visa application has been refused for the third time.

The first time,an old statement of account of $2,000 balance was wrongly uploaded. Also, I was expecting then and naively got a letter from my hospital stating I will need my mother’s help when I put to bed.I didn’t know it would be considered illegal employment. My spouse and I also wrongly stated we would be funding her trip (a friend who stated this in her invitation letter to her mom had her mom’s application approved). We stated she would stay for 3months.

1st time-reasons for rejection: insufficient income/assets, travel history, employment status.

My Mum,55 years old, a retired government worker who is now businesswoman usually invests her savings in her business. She increased her account balance to $6,000 in 2 inflows of $4000 and $2,000.

My spouse also provided a letter addressing their concerns and stating I need her for emotional support after childbirth and she wiuld stay for 5weeks and the reasons were changed to the following:

2nd time-reasons- insufficient funds, insufficient documents supporting her/hosts income and assets.

We provided a letter addressing their concerns and my mom increased the funds in her account to about $11,000 within a month and indicated $8,000 was available for her trip.We put 3weeks of visit.

3rd time- insufficient funds, travel history .

She has strong ties to her country;my dad,her business and 2 kids below 18; 15years and 9years old.

My spouse and I are PR who landed in January 2018. The first application was in March 2018, the second in May and the third in August 2018.

Please note:
Documents included: my PR card and my spouse’s, her business registration certificate, her account statement, my husband’s employment letter and pay stubs, her passport,Treasury bill certificate of $3,500 ,invitation letter, proof of relationship, etc .

-I plan to order for the GCMS notes today
-I will start working next month. Should I include my son’s daycare details to show she’s not coming to work for me?
-should I initiate the application the next time and for how long should we wait?
- her account balance now is about $ 7,000 (she withdrew $4,000 2weeks ago). There’s always been activity in the account since we started the TRV Application.

Please how can I make it right the next time? She has no plans of overstaying.

@Bryanna and everyone please help. Thanks

With three refusals so close together, your mother should not reapply until something significant in her profile changes. I would wait a minimum of 8 months before she reapplies and work to strengthen her application.

Yes - you should definitely apply for her GCMS notes to give you insights into the refusal reasons and what evidence you can provide when she reapplies to improve her chances of approval.

Her third application would have most likely checked the TRV approval boxes had it not been for the first two refusals. Her finances/ length of visit/ purpose of visit changed significantly with each application which raised red flags.

She would want to prove her business finances are stable and don't fluctuate from application to application + the source of income is verifiable which means money was not borrowed for her application
