I got almost the same timeline as yours. Application received Aug 28, 2017 and medical passed April 5, 2018.

I might be wrong but it appears to me as though they're focusing on inland applicants only for now.

Though I'm an outland applicant, my application is being processed in Sydney Nova Scotia. I'm hoping they'll treat us all fairly as the wait really kills!
