Hi,

Can someone clarify on the below doubts related to WES:

1. I need education assessment done for my Master's degree. Which document would be required to be signed by my university and sealed in an envelope:
A: Transcript and Degree Cert.
Or
B: Photocopy of marksheets and Degree Cert.

As per my consultant, both are valid. The website of WES mentions nothing about transcript. Hence the confusion.

2. In case both are valid, which document is more preferred?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Transcripts must be in a sealed and signed envelope. That's an absolute must. Not sure about the degree certificate because it might vary based on how you're sending it. Personally, for my bachelor's I only sent the sealed transcripts and a photocopy of the degree certificate. Faced no issues. For master's, the university sent it directly to WES, so I can't be sure how they did it.

Thank you for prompt response Grizz. Did you also get a sign and seal of university registrar on your photocopy of degree cert,?

Even I had the mindset that transcript is must for WES.
My consultant then told me that as getting transcript is cumbersome process, I can alternatively get sign and seal on photocopies of mark sheets of all years. But I am not sure and hence the query.

Your consultant is misleading you. Be careful. Don’t jeopardise your application. Follow the instructions. Make sure your transcripts are signed and sealed. No need to do that for degree photocopy. WES has all instructions defined very clearly. You can visit their website and recheck

Does WES need us to send photocopy of degree certificate?

Hi @Grizz , An additional query:

Is there a specified format for transcipts?
I have seen some youtube videos of WES where transcript was 1-2 pages long.
The format my college uses is of 11 pages with 4 pages of marks details and rest has details about institute and college.
Also, the transcript is a simple printout of marks and is printed on plain paper without any letterhead.
Will this long format create any issues?

The format that your college uses is the one you should go with. It varies. Generally, it should be on the letterhead with each page signed and stamped by the registrar or someone equivalent.

Hi @Grizz,
The recent notification by WES mentions that it will only accept couriers sent directly from the university.
I think it will complicate matters for me as I and my wife would require 3 universities to send the envelopes to WES directly.
