Have you received your AOR yet? Thanks!I just phoned them via Google Hangouts, had to hold on for like 40 minutes but it was worth it. I spoke to an agent and he asked me some of my personal details just to confirm, and he notified me that they started working on my application and that it was received on 11 September. Gave me a temporary application number and said that I can expect AOR within 4 weeks.

Cannot remember the options, I just followed the prompts up to a point where they asked me to enter an application number. I chose the option stating that the application number starts with "F" and then just entered 0 and and after a while the automated operator notified me that they could not find anything in the system, and gave me the option to speak to a consultant. Waited roughly 35 minutes and got news that it was received and in process. Good enough for me at this point in time...

CIC Sydney received my application on Sept. 13th, but still no response.
I tried calling today from abroad, but couldn't get through to them, as the line kept on disconnecting. Looked like they had too many calls going in at the same time!
If someone has info as to why many of us are past the normal time for AOR, please post it here. I cannot access the WhatsApp group, so I don't know if the folks there know any more than us...

Mine was received at Sydney on Sept. 13th and from what I can see on this forum, most of September applicants have not received AOR1 yet, so yes, almost everyone else has been waiting that long. Only a few got it so far. There are many August and even some July applicants who have not heard from them yet and this is the norm these days.
It is the sponsor who will receive the first e-mail from IRCC. After that, a medical request will follow (and biometrics, if required) and this second e-mail will come to the applicant.
For your own peace of mind, I suggest you call IRCC and make sure that your application is recorded in their system. They will not give you a time frame, but the agent I spoke to was very kind and she said because my app was past their 2 month mark, she was going to send an e-mail to agents who were dealing with my application, so that they do not miss sending me AOR1.

No need to worry. Most of us are past a 2 month mark (which was supposed to be their norm, according to the agent I spoke with yesterday) In fact, there really is no "normal" when it comes to IRCC. They do not promise a certain time frame. There are periods when they are completing the first step (SA) in 30-45 days, but then there are slower periods, like this one, when they are ranging from 60 to 120 days... all we have to do is work on our patience, go about our daily lives and try not to get consumed by this waiting game. Our time will come. Keep your head up.
I can't even call that number because I'm outside of Canada. Won't allow me to call it through the home phone, nor through Google Hangouts Dialer.

Mine delivered on Sept 6, have not received any communication.
Just quick question... there was a form that had by printing your name you are providing electronics signature - do we have to provide actual signatures next to it? I somehow believe I did not do that.
Some people had their application returned due to not having actual signature and some got away without any question. I guess it depends on the case officer.
You are required to have a written signature there as well, but depending on the officer they might send it back or not.
Just to update anyone not in the whatsapp grp - 1st week of Sept are now starting to get AOR 1. Latest I saw was Sept 9. Be patient because good news is on the way.
