Hi all,

I'm sponsoring my wife who is a US citizen. Application sent with UPS on November 10th, and delivered on November 14th. Now the waiting game has begun :) Not new with the whole immigration hurry up and wait thing, as lest year I was finishing the PR process for the USA, but we ended up deciding that we wanted to live in Canada instead. Hopefully it will go nice and smooth.
Looking forward reading about everybody's progress throughout the process!

Regarding mail delivery.
Since I reside In Canada, I have found Fedex works best from overseas and other countries.
They are more expensive but most efficient. Within Canada, I use UPS and in my opinion they are very good.
Previously I have used Canada Post within Canada and Overseas. Was not happy with their overseas tracking
and had issues when they passed it off to another delivery company. Would not take chance with them now due
to the labor dispute ! Our local News shows huge troubles in Canada that will cause many problems and backlogs
through Christmas and into the new year, especially with mail coming from other countries.

Well, mines still sat in Customs after 2 weeks... If anyone's thinking of sending via Royal Mail International tracked and signed, don't!

I'm starting to think my application will fall into December, if it ever gets there

Our application arrived today November 19 in Sydney NS! Now we wait....

Hear it takes anywhere from 2 to 3 months for the to even say they got it? Is that true? When I did it the other way to the US it only took like a week to acknowledge they have it lol XD no biggie just curious. We know it's a waiting game.

It is true yes, but some people don’t even get it. There is a timeline you can follow as example, I think on the first page, but they say up to 80% of applications are done in 12 months.
I read some done in 5 months, some longer.
What is your visa office?

Hi, I sent my application on Nov 1st via Purolator courier and it was signed and received at the Sydney NS office on Nov 6th. I am sponsoring my spouse who is currently staying with me in Canada but soon will be travelling to India. I went through the NOV 2017 outland applicants thread and I am sharing a couple of applicant timelines that I found in that page, if it maybe any indicator for us,

Application 2

    • We received your application for permanent residence on November 24, 2017.
    • We started processing your application on February 27, 2018
    • We sent you correspondence on January 19, 2018. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required. (Police Clearance, Background Declaration)
    • Medical request Feb. 5, 2018 received and passed after a week or two
    • Pre-Arrival services May 5, 2018
    • Background Check Started around June 2018
    • Passport Request September 5, 2018,
      1. Sent on September 7, 2018,

These are two applicants whose applications got processed really fast, going by their timelines. They are many others who are in the various stages of the application process.

For us ,I guess the next update will be the Acknowledgement of Receipt aka AOR 1.Which may take any where between 7 to 12 weeks (or maybe more).

Thanks
Jay
Is there a need for interview stage? Looking at the first applicant, interview was inclusive but as for the second applicant no record of interview. So my question is which one is more valid?
