I am so frustrated with linking the paper application. We're able to access the ecas info,and we can see our app has been received and we've received the AOR. But I have tried everything to link my paper application to my GCKey and nothing. I've even requested help from the technical team and they sent me an email with the same information from the website. So pretty much no help.
Any one have any similar issues or have any suggestions? I hate not being able to see the step by step status of everything.

Oct applicants usually take 20 days to get their AOR.. (Mine took 20 days as well). so you might get it within next week...

Was it returned because you had missing forms/documents for the adult dependents or for other reasons, such as missing signatures?

Anyway, if what you most recently submitted is accepted for review, you can expect an AOR soon-ish. October submissions are getting AORs as early as 14 days later. We received ours on either day 14 or 15, I can't quite remember. Ours was fairly straightforward, but even we thought we had a possible issue or two, which we explained on separate sheets.

I sent my application on October 12, Purolator receipt with signature on October 15 but still no AOR.
I discovered the existence of ECAS with this discussion and checked with my UCI (from work permit). My home address there is correct so unless they got it from CRA, they must have pulled it from my application.
It says that my PR application was received on October 15 and that they started processing it on November 1.
Is it a bad sign that despite that I still have not received the AOR? Sponsor and I are checking our email accounts daily, spam box included, and nothing

Good morning. We cannot link ours either! Can see it in Ecas but using GCkey it will not work. Have you had any luck?

Hi guys!

Just wanted to post our timelime here and I had a couple of quick questions. I (Canadian citizen) am sponsoring my husband (American citizen):

October 24th: Inland Application & Open Work Permit Application sent
October 25th: Received by CIC
November 9th: AOR received
November 14th: Application linked to GCKey

We had trouble linking our application initially - I used these instructions and it worked: https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/success-linking-application.510384/

We have both created GCKey accounts, but have only linked the application to mine (sponsor's) - do you recommend also linking it to the applicant's account? From what I can see, usually the applicant also receives an email from CIC regarding the receival of the application. My husband hasn't gotten any emails from them yet.

Also, is it only possible for the applicant to link the OWP application to their GCKey account?

Hi, Same here, I can't even check it on the online tool!

So on the Facebook group, someone gave me these instructions and they worked!!
-select family name,given name & date of birth then write all in CAPSLOCK then put one space after the details
e.g BHEVERLY MAE(one space)
BANAAG(one space)
-select passport details .after typing the passport details put one space again e.g AB123456(one space)
-input the address u intended to live in canada
-number of family-sponsor + principal applicant + any dependent


The one space afterwards made the difference! I still inputted my uci and application # but added spaces afterwards and it linked

Good morning. We cannot link ours either! Can see it in Ecas but using GCkey it will not work. Have you had any luck?

I added one space after the information I typed in and it worked. I was successful in linking the PR application. Not the OWP application though.

We had the same problem. The clue is that it is the information of the person being sponsored, with the number of application. In the AOR they give you the number of application and the CIU number of the sponsor. So I think that may cause confusion.
