Hi all,
I seek guidance, please help.
Any advice will be appreciated.

Me and my future husband will be applying for PR separately , we both are of Indian origin. He stays in Canada and works there and I stay in India and have a job here.
I am planning to do a soft landing if and when I receive COPR, come back to India and get married to him in India.
When I get the PR card delivered to me , can I travel to Canada? As I am not looking for any sponsorship but will be legally married by the time I receive PR card, do I need to inform the authorities?
Please let me know if I am doing things right ... and suggest me the correct path if there is something wrong.
Thanks again !

Yes once u have your pr card in hand u can travel to Canada. U don’t even need to inform ircc about your status change after landing.

Congrats for your marriage

As you know you will be given a one time visitor visa along with your COPR. You can use that and do your soft-landing and head back to India. The moment you complete your landing formalities you are a Permanent Resident in Canada. You can continue to stay in Canada or go back to India doesn't really matter. Once you receive the PR card you can travel back to Canada from India. You can get married and update IRCC about your status change, as long as you dont sponsor for your spouse you wont have to undergo any further paper work.

Do note that as soon as you land, your 5 years clock starts ticking, you need to stay 2 years within 5 years to renew your PR and 3 years within 5 years to apply for Citizenship.

I won't have to sponsor for my spouse as he would be applying pr from Canada on his own.

however as suggested, I will inform ircc about the marital status change, but will that affect my pr card status in any way? Reason being when I would receive COPR I'd single and when I'd receive pr card I would be married.
Need clarity if that would be an issue ?

Not at all, your PR card status has nothing to do with the marriage. Its a separate process. You will receive the PR card in approximately 2 months or so. Again PR Card is just a document proving you have PR status, but you become a Permanent Resident as soon as you land the 1st time. So any change in marital status before your soft landing will have an effect on your PR application, but after you landed you already are a PR.

One doubt.. as per customary..post marriage i might have to change my surname to my husband's surname in passport.
Won't the names in passport and pr card clash?
Please let me know your thoughts.

Apply for another PR card through IRCC with the name change. Are you sure you want to change your surname on the passport as soon as you get married?

Honestly, I don't know if I have to get my surname change as soon as I get married, I have to check with family . But lets say in case I did change, will it affect my entry to Canada as the name in pr card would be before marriage. Just wondering ...
