Getting married and relocation after ITA; spouse already has PR

Hello,

I would really appreciate some guidance with my situation. I am currently planning to apply for Express Entry pool and am single. I will soon be getting married but my spouse already has Canada PR. I am preferring EE over Sponsorship since it will be faster and we can both work.

I would greatly appreciate if you could help with the following question:

1) If I get my ITA and then get married before I am to submit my eAPR. How do I go about this? I do not need PR for my spouse but will I still need to update my profile?

2) I will have to move out of India with my spouse who is currently working there (till we find jobs in Canada). I would ideally want to finish my application before I move (since that will mean one more PCC[for new country] and I might not be able to submit within 60 days and loose my ITA chance) I read that I can move after my eAPR and AOR is done. I could not understand what the means; do I get the AOR immediately after I submit my eAPR online or do I have to wait for sometime.
The only reason I am concerned is because I will have time my relocation based on that.

Thank you very much for your help and time!

1. You need to add spouse details.
2. AOR is immediate or within 24 hours post submission of application.

Thank you very much cansha! Could you kindly help me with the following concerns that I have?

  • When I update the EE profile after marriage (which will cause recalculation of CRS score). Since my spouse already has a PR, should I say "Spouse will accompany OR will not accompany"? As I said, both of us live outside Canada right now.
  • I see that I can get extra points in CRS for siblings. My spouse has a sibling in Canada but can I use those points? Since it says "Do you or your spouse or common law partner (if they will come with you to Canada) have at least one brother or sister"
I really appreciate your help and time. Thanks.

1. Are you sure score drops? Check with CRS calculator. I think your score should not drop if spouse is PR. Also, I think the answer yes or no shouldn't matter if the spouse is already PR. My guess is in actual form that question may not appear. I'm not sure as I have not seen that situation.
2. Although I'm not sure, my best guess is you can't as your spouse is already PR. But as I said in one your score probably won't drop if spouse is PR so you don't need those points.

It's a quick validation. Just use the CRS tool and recalculate for yourself.

Thank you very much cansha! You are right, score is unchanged! But I was just hoping I could use those extra points since you never know if the cut off goes up :)

Thank you very much for your advice and time!
