Don't worry! 6 months is not the actual deadline. Rejections come way before 6 months timeline, sometimes. And I've seen PRs coming after 10 months time, too. I also had that same "6-month" doubt till a couple of weeks back but the CIC (phone) agent told me that the processing time is until when your medical expires.
Hi there.. Application received May 18 inland medicals pass may 29. No updates after that.. in my case I applied with my wife and we used her old medicals which we used first for work permit it expired after we passed medicals around June 20 does it effect my application process..?? CIC always asks if they need any documentation, even if medical needs to be re-done. So, that's not an issue. Do you know your visa office? There has been some backlogs at one of the offices.

Hey you guys, do we have to notify CIC if me/spouse resign a job?
If the principal applicant is your spouse and she has applied based on her job experience then it's good to let cic know about it, However as per my knowledge there is no such requirement to let them know if you resign job. The only thing they want you to notify about is change in your marital status or any addition of members such as baby :)

I'd say wait till next week and then call CIC. I got to know mine through an agent. :)

Call the IRCC Call Centre (1-888-242-2100), from within Canada only, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm local time, except for statutory holidays). To speak to an agent, navigate through the automated messages by pressing 3-4-1-0.

Prepare to wait on hold for some time. Try calling early in the morning or use a speakerphone. For your records, write down the date and time you called, the agent’s name, and the exact information they provide.

Hello guys,

I submitted my application on May 31st, 2018. Still waiting for PPR and I emailed Ralph today in regards of the application status because I never had a chance to get in touch with IRCC due to high volumes of calls. They reply so fast..!!
The response seems very promising but I am wondering when they will actually send out all PPRs...

I spoke to IRCC regarding your application received May 31, 2018. It is at the Centralized Intake Office in Sydney.
Standard processing time is 6 months. This means 80% of routine applications are completed within that time frame, while 20% take longer.
I have good news – the file was approved Oct 24, 2018.
You will receive notification and instructions in the coming weeks.
Medicals are valid until May 25, 2019.

Sincerely,
Ms. Robyn Sullivan
Office of the Hon. Ralph Goodale, MP
Regina-Wascana

Hopefully we all get golden emails soon...
