It seems like the Canada post strikes are causing backlogs at customs. Documents are usually much quicker to clear from what I’ve read online, so fingers crossed.

I am sponsoring my spouse who is currently staying with me in Canada but soon will be travelling to India. Thanks Jay for those infos! And welcome to the group, you are lucky your application is already there, lot of us are still waiting even tho we sent it by courrier!

I am worried to get an interview so it s good to see even with an interview they got it really fast, with an interview it can take around 18 months.

Just read that 3 forms have been updated on the cic website with November 2018 dates:

Application to Sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking (IMM 1344) (PDF, 588.96 KB) November 2018
Generic Application Form for Canada [IMM 0008] (PDF, 553.33 KB) November 2018
Additional Dependants/Declaration [IMM 0008DEP] (PDF, 433.80 KB) November 2018

Anybody aware what will happen for people in our situation who sent off the application in the beginning of November when these forms hadn't been updated yet (I was so paranoid this would happen that I checked the day I sent our app off) ? I wonder if they will request us to fill out new ones and send them at a later date?

I read a few threads about that and they apparently leave some time. Especially for us, we already sent it, they can see the stamp. I wouldn’t worry about that too much.
Did you send the updates forms from October?

Typically a grace period for these scenarios.

I’m currently arguing with Canada Post with regards to tracking with Royal Mail International tracked and signed.

Royal Mail state they use Canada Post as a delivery partner and offer full tracking but Canada Post are saying that’s not the case. Nonetheless, it’s in Montreal being sorted so fingers crossed it’ll arrive soon!

How’s everyone else getting on?
