Dear all ,
I received a reference letter from the ministry of public works in my country ; however, the date of joining mentioned on the letter differs from the actual date of joining . I started my job in October 2012 , but on the reference letter , it is mentioned September 2012. In your opinion, should I ask for a new reference letter or this would be fine ?

Actual date of joining : October 2012
Written on the reference letter : September 2012
Actual duration of working : 23 months
Mentioned duration of working on the reference letter : 24 months
Experience from my other job : 8 months
Total experience : 31 months

I will be claiming points for 24 months . Thank you

I'd recommend that you get it corrected. You never know, IRCC might do additional verification and cross check with your employer and they will then give your dates of employment as October onwards to IRCC.

I got the offer letter in September ,and started my job in October , but I don't have that offer letter now. I have asked for the corrected version of the letter .

One more thing , I worked for another company for 8 months , and the company closed down later . I have 23 months of experience from my second job and 8 months from the first that was shutdown later. Shall I claim points for one year work experience because both one and two years carry the same CRS score ? This is because I don't wanna take risk by providing a reference letter of a company which no longer exists .
