Seems like we got another week on our plates :(
Yeah! :(

We're are in a situation due to this delay.

We're flying home for around 20 days early next month. We have informed CIC about our planned travel through the IRCC webform. But do you think if we don't get PPR until after we are back, they would let us enter Canada? :(
We still have our work permits valid till next year, our PR is approved (as confirmed by the two CIC agents) but we don't have PPR.

Would ADR changing to NA be something like a Ghost Update? I don't consider it one though but always hopeful

Ghost update won't make any changes to your online account. It's something they do at backend but isn't visible to us. What I've been observing is that 1st ghost update means PR approved (like my case and another person on this thread who got same ghost update on same day) and second ghost update means PPR (which I don't know when would I get).

Yeah I realized. Although I have a feeling we won't get a Ghost Update as our RPRF is pending. Once they release an ADR for that, then we'll know we are through for PPR..

Oh I see! Yeah, I am not sure about that because we submitted all our docs upfront! So yeah I really don't know about the "ADR" and how it works :)

I am not getting the point why are you worried about your travel. Just go and if you get ppr you can submit your passport in whatever country you are and land back as Immigrant.

I think ghost update is only for Background check. normally you get ghost update when you clear background check one in which your police certificates and criminal record is checked. if they find anything they ask you for rcmp. now if that clears you get ghost update and you advance to background check 2 which is Security Check. in this check you are being investigated by CSIS. This usually take 15-20 days or max a month if they dont find anything about you. So you get ghost update 2 when that check is done. That is the final step and your pr is approved. The next thing is they send you PPR.

Yeah but there is another possibility that happened with some people here. They didn't get PPR, instead a landing interview in a local office and got the COPR and then they cannot leave Canada before getting PR cards.

My BG got into 'processing' status on 12 Oct. On 24th I got a ghost update. I called CIC on Nov. 1st and also Nov. 6th, both of them told me that my PR was approved on 24th Oct (the day I got my one and only ghost update). That's why I assumed the logic of the ghost updates. :)

What i know is they are very nice if you get interview you can schedule it at your local embassy. You dont need to worry about it at all.

And how long do they take to send the passport back, what if I get PPR when I am in India and send my passport there? Sorry if I am asking so many questions here... :(

Background Check one which is Criminality check is initiated as soon as your medical is passed. Sometimes they update it later. In your case.. your criminality passed on 12 oct as me and you advanced to background check 2 (ip2) . On Oct 24 it was completed and you got a ghost update also your pr was approved.
