Accounting jobs without CPA/CGA?

Hi all,
just wondering what are the chances of finding work without CPA designation? I am currently ACCA member and confused about obtaining the membership of CPA - the main hurdle right now is finances, as it will require substantial money.

you should contact CPA of province you intend to land in and ask the process to transfer CPA. I had a friend who was acca member and got cpa after doing additional 1/2 exam

CPA is very essential for climb the corporate ladder in Accounting role. But you don't really need a CPA for an entry level role. ACCA members can apply directly to CPA British Columbia from their home country. For now, your cost to get the process started is about CAD 500 which you have to pay for Canadian Law and Taxation CPD. remember CPA takes several months to approve membership so it's better to start the process. I have also done the same.

When are you leaving? I am also an ACCA but i returned after completing formalities. Let's get connected!

I have contacted it but I'm just a bit hesitant because of the costs involved. I haven't paid ACCA subscription in years so gotta pay them all first. I can understand CPA is an added advantage but what if you don't have CPA?!

One online CPD course, shouldn't be a big deal though. The only factor making me think twice is the cost involved.
