What decision to make??

Hi I’m actually in Europe at the moment and working in finance. If I decide to come to Canada with family and live there, what are the chances me getting a job in accounting or finance division. I know in the beginning it may take a while to find a suitable job, but is it easy to get a odd kind of job meanwhile i.e restaurant or gas station job and what would be the earning if I work full time there.

I’m just considering Canadian option because of language problem in Europe but I don’t want to end up with losing my job here and then completely unemployed in Canada

Hard to say. Those industries are very competitive and many new immigrants are also trying to get into those industries. Will mostly depend on your education (whether the institutions are recognizable to Canadian employers also helps), work experience and certification like CPA, CFA, etc. If you have a good job in Europe I wouldn't necessarily be rushing to move.

Stay in Europe.
#Canada's infrastructure is crumbling & similar to that of a third world country.
You can feel that when you squeeze yourself and stand for hours when using bus and transit.
And yes you will meet the homeless people and beggars when you visit the downtown just in case you forgot how canadian economy is doing and how the govt treats its citizens.

#In canada people will say do networking which is more like a** licking & hiring your kind only.
Its something similar to casteism but instead of prejudice you get favouritism by your own kind.
In the end that translates to casteism as other communities wont employ you becuase they prefer hiring only from their community even though there is better canditate out there with better matching skills but from another community unfortunately.
Now if your community likes helping your own people then its good.
Again because of networking you have lot of workers in jobs that are not fit for their jobs.
So you as a customer/citizen will get third class service from both govt & private workers/employees.

# Forget full time.Remember employers will put you on a 10 hr part time legal contract but they want the employees to work when the business needs & dont adhere to a fixed start - finish time. Because of that you cant get a 2nd job.
Again more a** licking is needed if you want the employer to give more hrs.
So if you are thinking that doing odd jobs will save you then forget it as you will struggle to pay rent & eat food on part time hrs for yourself only forget family. By the way the social welfare in canada is also sh*t. For example when the real market rent could be 1000$ but in benefit the govt will pay only you 300$.So again even by working part time & getting social assistance wont work either.

Finally if you are already struggling to pay rent & food in Europe then welcome to canada.

I'm sorry @parttimebasement you've had a negative experience. It is clear that you are very angry based on your constant posts. Many immigrants have a very different experience than you do. Nobody is forcing you to remain in Canada if you hate living here. Canada is a relatively small country. There is a large influx of immigrants looking for finance jobs especially due to Brexit and various factors in the US. Tehn there are various groups working in the gulf region that will never get permanent residency so after 5-10 years of working they are looking to resettle. The banking industry is already in transition, the market is relatively small compared to US, Europeans countries, etc. an there is just lots of competition for jobs. You may be one of the lucky ones but if you have a good job in a country with a strong economy and good living standards I would probably remain inGermany.

I have experienced nothing negative but what i mentioned are just real facts.
No I am not angry.
I am 2nd generation canadian so I cannot immigrate to another country.

Canada is far from perfect but can't imagine that most Canadians would agree with any of your statements.

There are plenty of professions and offices that employ a variety of people from different backgrounds. There are also tons of 3rd/4th/5th generation Canadians who are stuck in contract or part-time jobs. Yes some public transit is very full during rush hour but many are not. Full public transit during rush hour is pretty standard in many locations around the world. You are making some huge generalizations. This may be your experience but not everyone has the same experience.

Greyhound shut down most of the bus services in BC due to under capacity. Wondered if they could had sell the fleet and replace them with minibuses instead of shut them down completely?

• In Canada, according to official statistics, the unemployment rate among immigrants with university degrees was 6.1 percent last year, compared with 2.9 percent for native-born Canadians with the same education level.

Other vital statistics:-

• Each month, over 850,000 people turn to food banks for help; more than one-third are children and youth.
• 1 in 7 (or 4.9 million) people in Canada live in poverty. (13.35% of total population of canada live in poverty)
• 3 million Canadian households are precariously housed (living in unaffordable, below standards, and/or overcrowded housing conditions).
• Almost 1 in every 5 households experience serious housing affordability issues (spending over 50% of their low income on rent) which puts them at risk of homelessness.
• An estimated 235,000 people in Canada experienced homelessness in 2016, with roughly 35,000 people being homeless on any given night.

I didn't follow your threads. They were hard to miss when you were spamming every thread about your basement issues. I only clicked on them to report the spam, as I'm sure others did, hence why some of your posts were deleted. I've lived in basement suites, so I can safely say that your basement "facts" are false.

Nobody said Canada is perfect and those stats are certainly not unique to this country. Immigrants in any country can have a harder time; that is part and parcel for any person immigrating to any country. Homelessness and poverty exist in every single country. Your claim that Canada is third world country is ridiculous.

No its not as without strong infrastructure & social assistance from Govt there is nothing meaningful that separates a third world country from a developed country.

Tall skyscrapers ,shiny shopping malls, V12 Cars, big houses (built on stolen land from first nations) mean nothing.Morever third world countries have more wealth and huge scope for economic development in the coming years which will result in those shingy things being available there.

50% of the top 10 future megacities will be from Africa.
In the coming years China, India and other asian countries (japan excluded) will share 70% of the global middle class consumption.
They will have all the shiny things but even after all the wealth it will be no use when they dont/wont have a strong infrastructure and stong social welfare program that cares for its citizens.

So just becuase canada has wealth does not mean it cannot be classified as a third world country cuz its infrastructure is crumbling and the social welfare is worst.
