Hi there,

I will like to know if one successfully applies for the Federal Skilled Workers Class with a UK criminal record committed more than 5 years ago will mean the record gets recorded into the Canadian Police Database and/or the Canadian Criminal Record check which may be carried out for certain future jobs in Canada.

Thank You

No.

Job applications are also forbidden from asking you to disclose criminal records that have been pardoned in the past, including government jobs requiring security clearances.

If you have been pardoned for an offense committed in the past and have been granted a permanent visa to Canada, you can be rest assured that it will never come up again in your life. It will be as if it never happened.

1. You should note that the Canada doesn't recognize overseas pardons. You still have to declare the arrest/conviction on your application.

Pardoned as in being granted a formal pardon in Canada or having an approved criminal rehabilitation application. I am not aware of any requirement to disclose previously pardoned records in Canada outside of IRCC immigrant applications.
