Visa for January 2019 status

I have applied for a study permit to Canada on september 28 2018 and on October 31 my application status says that my passport has been Couriered from the canada Visa Application center and also on October 29 I received an email from CIC about my biometrics validity which states about my biometrics is valid of 10 years and also it states about this letter won't allow me to enter Canada without a valid passport or travel document even if i have this letter and also states about this letter won't allow you to enter or remain in Canada. Eligibility and admissibility to canada will be based on current Canada border service agency procedures upon entering Canada it's says like this then after 2days of receiving this email my passport has been Couriered from the canada Visa Application center am really Confused is my visa application approved or rejected even i didn't submit medical examination I applied from China Guangzhou and am a student in china from Ethiopia please any one Help me out am really stressed right now?

How to link with gckey
Using family name , Given name ,DOB option
BCz I applied offline so I can't enter application number and UCI
And have to enter this information only

But the problem is I am not having any surname in passport
Whereas gckey demands surname as required

What to do
Not applicable also doesn't work
And leaving blank shows error


Any suggestions ???

My friend had applied for study permit for canada online and she didn’t knew if she could link her account to gc key or not so unintentionally she linked her online visa application to gc key account! Will that be a reason for refusal of visa? Please help!!

Hi Rishabh,

I applied on October 15, under General Category and submitted my file in Delhi VFS (Offline.) But till date I haven't received any update... even I have also not received any acknowledgement email from High Commission...

Usually, embassy do send an acknowledgment letter after 14 days confirming the UCI and Application No. .. But I haven't received it....

If you have genuine work experience, having all the work related certificates and your every month salary was being credited into your bank account (for the whole period), and having all the salary slips.. Then I believe, you have a good and strong profile...

But do remember some important points...

1. Apply under SDS category.. (1 yr tuition fees and GIC)

2. And most importantly, your chosen course must be relevant of your past studies and work experience...
If you are course is irrelevant then no matter you apply under SDS or University Category .. the chances of visa rejection gets increased...

No. I haven't received any acknowledgement email or update in gckey account. Not even medical has been updated.

Does anyone know any visa refusal cases under SDS?
My application just got processed on 1 nov, so it would be approx 20 december for any decision to come and I need to start making all the arrangements.
