Hi,

Quick Q - I'm in the Express Entry pool however before the end of the year I have my birthday, so when my year is up in the pool in January 2019 I'll have to re-apply for EEntry minus 5 points for turning another year older. So, I'm wondering, is it ok to delete my current application and re-apply before my birthday? Then I should be able to stay in the pool for another year at my current age/CRS score.

Thanks!

Do you think you can fool the system? What’s your current CRS? If your CRS is high enough, you’ll get in before your bday

I'm not trying to fool the system at all, it's just a question of re-applying a couple of weeks before my 1year in the pool expires, and not losing 5 more points due to turning another year older only 2 weeks before that date.

Right right. Any reason you don’t want to re-create? Worried about losing to tie breaker?if you ask me, I’d create slightly earlier so that your age doesn’t get updated automatically to n+1 when you recreate.

As far as I understand, the loss of points is automatic, so points-wise it won't make a difference whether you re-create your profile now or later. Your points for age are only "locked in" once you receive an ITA.

Thanks both, I thought it was a case of them sticking with your age at time of EEntry submission/acceptance, but sounds more likely that it automatically updates ages so not much point in me stressing about something i can't change. Might as well enjoy my bday ;)
