Hi - posting to try and find out if its worth me applying for Canadian Citizenship, would be grateful for any help you can provide.
My Grandma was born in Canada in the 1930s and was a Canadian citizen by birth. She moved to the UK in her early teens, married my Grandpa (british,UK)
My Dad was born in the UK in 1959 and is a Canadian citizen. He is Canadian by descent. He has a Canadian ID card and passport but didn't apply for these documents until sometime in the 90s after I was born, but my understanding from what I have read is that he was automatically a Canadian Citizen when he was born.
I was born in 1989 in the UK. My dad did not apply for citizenship for me or my brother on our behalf when I was a child, but I would like to apply now as an adult.
Am I eligible based on these circumstances. Can I apply as a second generation if my dad automatically became a Canadian citizen when he was born?
If this is all correct, can I still apply or have I left it too late (read somewhere else that you have to do it before your 28th birthday)
Thanks in advance
