What you are doing is immigration fraud, specifically "marriage of convenience" for PR status. Clearly you are intending to use someone else for the sake of getting PR yourself and bringing any future family to Canada.

Back to your question. You cannot sponsor anyone after 5 years after you landed as PR, regardless of when you got divorced or remarried. There are no minimum income requirement for PR spousal sponsorship.

This is why conditional 51 clause is needed, to stop potential marriage abuse for PR status such as your case.

Just don't try to do it cuz it's gonna be hard for u if ur ex- wife have complaint to CIC abt u like how u use her to get PR status in canada. Even if she didn't doesn't matter but CIC gonna find our how u married to canadian citizen just to enter over thr. I'll suggest u to meet with immigration solictor.

If you already planned to divorce your wife, do not apply... It sounds like immigration fraud.
It doesn't "sounds like immigration fraud", it IS immigration fraud.

Agree all above. May I ask 1 Q please RE my best friend's situation?
If an applicant comes here; stays OK with him just 5 years then all of a sudden find excuses to divorce then , lays lots of abuse, serious charges 7 total with no solid proofs; NOW sponsor gets a conditional discharge, with NO criminal record.
Can he sponsor another spouse now, divorce is done.
Can sponsor raise the issue of deporting her or even file any complaint with lots of proofs how she lied etc etc.., She had relatives here BUT NEVER declared those although it had no direct affect on her immigration ?
Applicant -MOC wife got richer as well with divorce, fetched 80K from poor guy as well. I know it happens here often and I told my friend no>> too late for any action now :(
But you guys are quite experienced may be throw more light on this please ..Thanks in advance

The longer the applicants stays with sponsor, the less likely on IRCC's part can do anything about the original applicant. The sooner the sponsor declares marriage fraud (with proofs) to IRCC the more likely the incident can be viewed as marriage fraud. IRCC is only interested in marriage fraud that happened within a limited time after landing. Thus the longer the sponsor waits to report or applicant bid her/his time before divorcing after landing, the less likely IRCC can do anything about it. 2 year conditional clause will help prevent this from occurring. Not 100% but it does reduce marriage fraud since they can be reported for marriage fraud up to 2 years after landing.

The applicant can remarry anytime after divorce but still cannot sponsor a new spouse him/herself until 5 years after landing.

As for wife getting rich due to divorce, that is nothing to do with IRCC. That is family law. The moment the wife or husband is married, he/she is entitled to 50% of the estate upon divorce unless a prenuptial agreement was made prior to marriage.
