Open work permit in spousal sponsorship

hi everyone!

My husband and I are doing the OWP application with our spousal in land application package and I’m just wondering if the application for open work permit also need its own checklist and supporting documents attached to it. It just seems silly to me that the same documents (copy of passport, birth certificate, current work permit) again has to be in the application package if we already have all those documents in the package from the spousal checklist.

And another question :)
In the application form for OWP it asks me when my original entry to Canada was, which was July 18, 2017 on a 3 week vacation. Then it asks me the purpose of my entry and that was tourism. But later it asks the most recent entry which is January 2018 this year. But this is a open work permit application so should I just put original entry as January 2018 and write my purpose was work because I came in with a working holiday visa?

Hopefully someone has an answer :)

There is a checklist. Follow what it lists on there... which means, yes, some of what you've listed will be submitted twice!

When you read the full guide for OWP, you'll see that there's distinction between original entry and most recent entry.

Just another quick question !
I’m currently on a working holiday visa which expires in January 2019. I know working holiday work permits can’t be extended so the application for a open work permit in our spousa package will that be rejected based on the fact that they won’t extend a working holiday visa or do I just get an open work permit that’s new ?

You’ll get a new OWP.
