Entering Canada on Work Visa upon PR Approval

Hello folks,

I am currently on Work Permit and have a valid Work Visa. I just received ITA and am planning to apply for PR very soon. In addition to that I have flights booked to visit my home country during January 2019.

If I apply for PR immediately, I might get approved late December and since I won't have a PR card until late January, I will not be able to enter Canada after my visit to my home.
So, in order to avoid this situation, I am thinking about applying for PR just before PR application expiry date, i.e. Early December, as this will give me enough time to return to Canada before 60 days of estimated processing. However, if my PR application gets approved while I am in my Home country, can I still enter Canada through my Work Visa?

Apply now and if approved early, just delay your landing until you return in January.

Once your app is approved, you have to actually land as a PR. Delay the landing.
