Me and my husband are applying for Canada immigration via FSW category and have already filed for Permanent Residency on Aug 10, 2018. Due to my husband's work stay in Mexico City for 1 year, he needs a police clearance certificate from Mexico for which we sent all required documents in Sept when we received the request letter from CIC. We still have not heard anything from them, no update in my case status, all it says is "Replacement needed - Police Clearance" which is apparently due by Oct 29, 2018. We tried to reach out to the Canadian Embassy and CIC but they say it can take Mexican Authorities up to 30-60 business days to process. If this document is due by Oct 29, 2018 will this not cancel out my application? Anyone been through this recently? Any help will be appreciated!

If you're close to the deadline and you still haven't obtained your PCC from Mexico, request an extension through a CSE, and provide proof of your timely request for a PCC.
Thank you. We did that already, minus asking for an extension - didn’t know that until you mentioned. They replied-
“We verified the information on file and are pleased to confirm that the police certificate was received by the responsible office.
If further information is needed during the processing of your application, the responsible office may contact you.”
We are hoping this means that the PCC from Mexico has been submitted. I received this today morning, and no change yet in the status on the application profile - date still shows pending document. I’m guessing it will take some time to update??!!

Yes system often takes time to update. Sometimes it may never update, but still lead to PPR.
I honestly find that besides "Medicals Passed" and "Biometrics Completed", the other status phrases aren't really helpful, as they don't tell you really what's going on.
