Hello there,

Asking question on brother's behalf. He applied for citizenship in April 2018. It is in process since June 27th and no updates after that. He is travelling back home in a month and staying there for 3 months. Is it better to inform CIC now that he will be away or should wait for a test date and then contact them for rescheduling?

Plus he will be getting married back home. So when he comes back here in Middle of Feb should he inform CIC that he is back now plus to update his marital status from Single to Married? How much delay can we expect?
Please suggest. Thanks!!

Hi, Don't tell them in advance just let them know when you get test request if you can't attend test.

Thank you for your reply.
He is leaving for India in 3 weeks. So you suggest he should not even inform few days before leaving but keep an eye on emails while on vacation and if he get test date there, then he can send email with his flight tickets to ask for new date?

Terrible advice. You're required to notify IRCC of any absence from Canada that would be greater than 2 weeks.

Thank you

As each application is uniquely different, it is hard to generalize ...... anything from 1 day to 1 year I guess :(

I plan to personally apply for the passport at the office on Main Street.
Anybody know how long - from experience - this office takes to process application.
I am not in any hurry, just want to hear peoples experience of the timeframes.

Please, I need help on my question, I will appreciate your response. I am a PR in Manitoba and I have been a resident for two years. I got my PR through the Mpnp. However, I got admission in another province for my postgraduate studies ( I have been trying university of Manitoba since 2014 till now but unsuccessful).
How can I move to another province and avoid my Manitoba supporter from been hurt. I am totally confused

Call MPNP program/provincial office in Winnipeg and ask for their advice. They won't forbid you moving to another province, just tell them honestly what is going on. It's important to let them know so when the time comes for you to apply for citizenship there won't be any "surprises" for you.
