Express Entry award points early and I got ITA

Hi Guys,
I got my ITA this March 1 draw because EE awarded points early for my CEC work experience. Below is my situation:

Feb 26, 2017: Created the EE and was entered into the pool based on the fact that I got one year of foreign work experience in the US (May 28-2013 to May 27-2014). I was eligible only for the Federal Skilled Worker stream at that moment with CRS at 409

Now, I have also started working full-time in Canada since April 18, 2016 and I put "April 2016 - Present" in my EE profile. Because EE profile only ask for Month-Year, on March 1, my score automatically went up to 481 and I received ITA because of that (April 2016 - March 2017 is 12 months, and I put 37.5 hours per week in the profile for my CEC work experience).

Should I wait 2-3 weeks after I complete my one year of CEC work experience to apply? Or do I have to reject the ITA?? I didn't misrepresent anything on my EE profile.

Thank you

CIC calculates your score and make sure your score is over the limit they selected on the ITA date, because the ministerial instructions specifically states "foreign nationals who score ... or above on .....", so you do not qualify although the system though you do. Wait for others to recommend what you should do, but do not submit an application before much deliberation here on the forums.

Thank you! I guess this has been an issue for other members here as well. As I didn't misrepresent my Canadian work experience at all (I entered the pool qualified as FSW)

Any other thoughts? Plzzz more inputs especially from the seniors?

THanks!

Hey there,

I am a CEC applicant and I am in the same situation. As per my search on CIC site. They will count your points when you receive submit e-APR or when you received your ITA. If one of this condition is true then you are good to go. Just submit your application after you finish full year.

I have seen many cases on this forum like this one also I have these stuff on CIC site under Minimum Entry Criteria as well.

Good luck.

I'm pretty sure you know what we're all going to say because you are aware of other instances such as this and so would know what is recommended. There really was no need to start another thread on this topic. You do not qualify for CEC and must reject the ITA.

Thanks for your reply. THe reason I posted is because there are conflicting info regarding this so.. I dont really want to reject the ITA if I have done nothing wrong. But guess I might have to

your way above the cut off score for now.. decline the invite and then wait for the draw in april once your one year has completed. Even if they magically start to raise the points which i highly doubt they will for the next few months you wont miss out on anything

This is not true. The rule is you must meet MEC at both time of ITA and eAPR.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/perm/express/refuse.asp

Also, the VO will assess you for all eligible programs. So if you are deemed ineleigible for CEC, but you are still eligible under FSW, then your application will proceed under FSW stream. However, based on your CRS and current trends of scores, you are better off declining and waiting to avoid any possible headache.

What I understand is that:

The first stage of the application, they check for completeness. And that u will know almost immediately.
Those are receptionist kinda ppl who just have a checklist.
They will compare ur crs score at that time, to what is was when u get ita
They will also make sure u provided all the supporting docs, pay the fee, had medical and police check etc.
If u had all of that, they send to the officers. If u dont, u get "rejected" and receive all your fees back
In stage 2, they check for MEC. At that time, they scrutinize all your documents to make sure u meet the minimum. They also scrutinize the letters, bank statements etc. If u pass all of tht u go to the next stage
Stage 3 deal with background check; at that time, they check the police records; the record of your families - even the ones that are not coming with u! If u pass that stage, u get Passport request

I am in the same situation, could you please share with us what happened? Did you submit your e-PRA or rejected your ITA? I would really appreciate your response. Thank you in advance.
