Has anyone got gift deed from Canada?
I saw lot of posts on gift deed's from India but couldn't find any related to Canada.
Would like to know about the format and procedure on how to get the deed signed. Would it be same for every country?

Thanks

There is no gift deed for specific country.
Generally, it just needs to states who gave you the money, what amount, for purpose of immigration to Canada, with no objection or expected return whatsoever.

Thanks a ton for the quick reply. Should the gift deed be notarized or should this take place in front of any person?
Or is it just I can get it done without any third party concern?

As mentioned above by peacekeeper you need only following content in gift deed. There is no country specific format

Date
Your Full name
Purpose of gift e.g Inheritance etc.
Amount
Giver Name

Good Luck

Basic signature by the person giving the gift is acceptable.
If you can have it notarized, that's even better. But not mandatory.

Please I would love to know if I can get a gift deed from my fiancé.
If you are applying together, and he's/she's accompanying you, and your marital status as "common law", no need for gift deed if the money is in an account in fiancé's name, or a joint-account in both your names.
If fiancé is not accompanying, then yes, you need a gift deed from him/her

Fiancé doesn't count as common law unless they have lived with you for the past 12 consecutive months, as far as I know.

Yes that's true of course.
That's why I said "IF" status is common law, with all the requirements that go with it.
