Hi All,

I have an ITA for express entry and am completing the documentation. It has asked me to complete the Statutory Declaration of Common-law Union form for my common-law partner. Is this required when my partner is a canadian citizen already and is noted as 'non accompanying'? Just seems a hassle to get this notorised when she is already a legal citizen of the country and doesn't really play much of a role in my application. I have lease agreements for us living together for evidence.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks.

No, just write a letter of explanation and provide proof of her citizenship (e.g. your partner's birth certificate or passport). It asked you for this, but not the medical exam or PCC? LOL...

It’s asked me for this as well as a PCC and medical and her history etc too. There doesn’t seem to be an acknowledgement in their system if your common law partner is already a Canadian citizen. I’ve not got any other documents for her side and just going to upload her birth certificate and passport which are both from Canada.

It does seem odd even when selecting her as a Canadian citizen it still asks your for all these eligibility documents.
