URGENT PLEASE: PR under CEC and WP Extension!

Hello everyone,

I am currently working as PostDoc (LMIA-Exempted WP) since Mar-18 (will be concluding 1st yr experience by end of Feb-19), just received extension letter from university for 2 yrs. (Mar-19 to Feb-21), I have to apply for WP extension now, and after that in Mar-19, will apply for PR accordingly as inland CEC.

The job offer letter (i.e. extension letter) from HR doesn't states the sentences about at least one year after PR, but it's quite obvious that it's for 2 yrs extension, and in Mar-19 when I will apply for PR based upon this job offer, I would claim 50 points and as well as 1 yr experience pts. under CEC category...is it OK to sign and proceed or should I ask HR to write at least one year after PR sentence?

Really appreciate ur urgent response, i was skeptical but as in a logical way, CIC should see future job validity for atleast one year, so my case Im good beyond that. Ok signing the offer and sending them!

The question is, would I be able to get 50 points, based upon this renewal contract letter when I will apply for PR. Considering the fact that this letter contains all details (salary, term, duties, etc.) would it be considered as valid job offer, or would i be needing another letter (e.g. current employment letter) from HR at time of applying for PR? As this letter doesn't mentions one-year atleast after receiving PR, though its quite obvious that employment term concludes at Feb, 2021 (i.e. beyond one year after PR)....I am so confused after reading diverse responses on this forum..kindly advice!

Yes.

UM, you also need a letter of employment / letter of reference attesting to your PAST work experience, so you need this as well.

You need a letter attesting to your qualifying work experience to be eligible. You need a (future) job offer letter for the extra points. Two different things (one addresses the past, the other the future).

Exactly. It does not need that exact wording, as long as it is the equivalent or better. In your case, it is better.

Great...im happy n relax now...will apply for WP extension once i wud receive lmia exemption offer of employment # from hr in coming days, m already in pool as fsw with crs below 400. So in mar-18, automatically wud b considered as CEC, then i will update EE profile and wud go in pr process as cec inland. Many thanks

Boost is only due to 1 yr canadian exp. plus 50 points of job offer, which further contribute to combinations in EE factors, thus resulted to 492. Im so happy and anxiously waiting and wishing all goes well as planned!
hmmm, work experience will give you only 40 plus job offer 50, total is 90 + 371 ? maybe my calculation is wrong ...

I wish i wud b helpful in that i dont know about bridging wp stuff, but should be ok, as by the time u wud b needed WP u wud already have obtained PR, but experts can be more accurate. My case differs a bit as my wp expiring in jan19 so i need to get wp renewed first then with valid wp will go to pr route

A bit wrong, as 1 yr xp is 50, job offer is 50, that's 100 but after that it contributes in several factors like age+xp+edu, etc. Dont remember but will share with u when i will try crs calculator, summary gives us accurate visibility of points.
