I have just consulted several panel doctors (France) and they all say the same thing - my 3 year old son and 1 month old daughter need to have an x ray and blood tests done as well. The prices are 160€ for adult + 50€ x ray+ 45€ blood test, and 110€ for a child +50+45. Is there such requirement?

Children that age are done just a physical exam. Nothing else. Why don't you find another country to go and do your medicals there. It is allowed.

I have a 2 yrs old toddler girl, no X-ray neither blood/ urine tests were required to her. I strongly suggest you to change of clinic. Kids younger than 5 only have to do the physical exam.

If a Panel Physician office is telling you that children that young need x-rays and blood tests, email the Regional Medical Office.

The doctor will look at him and ask few questions. Not every doctor can do it. All the information is available on the official website.

Be a little bit cautious in the negative responses...

There are circumstances in the IME handbook where blood and/or X-ray examination is mandated even for children under the normal cut-off age.

Example : (excuse the loss of formatting)
https://www.canada.ca/content/dam/ircc/migration/ircc/english/department/partner/pp/pdf/imei_tuberculosis.pdf

RadiologyPostero-anterior chest radiography is required for:•All clients 11 years of age and over; and•Clients regardless of age: -with symptoms suggestive of active TB; -who have been in close contact with an active TB case; or -with a past history of treatment for TB.The radiology section of the new IME form includes a question for completion by the radiologist:

There is insufficient information to determine if the request is reasonable just based on the OP's narrative.

Having urged caution, I suspect however that it's probably inappropriate in this case....
