Ready for Visa / Getting Married

I've applied for Express Entry a while ago. Now looks like I've been accepted. I received an email saying I should submit my passport. I'm engaged at the moment and I'm planning to get married next April (2019).



The email says:

We are ready to issue the permanent resident visa that entitles you to enter Canada. The following information is required to complete
your application.
If you do not respond within 30 days from the date of this letter (or before the expiry date of the visas,
whichever comes first), your file will be closed.
STEP 1: STATUS CHANGE (If none of these conditions applies to you, you may proceed to STEP 2)
Has your family composition changed since our last correspondence?
Have you gotten married or divorced?
Have you given birth or adopted a child?
Do you intend to get married or divorced prior to becoming a permanent resident?
Do you intend to give birth or adopt a child prior to becoming a permanent resident?
If any of these conditions apply, you must inform the Paris office at: paris-immigration@international.gc.ca

Now, my problem is. They said I have to respond in 30 days. And I am planning to get married and I wish that my wife would have the permanent resident visa so we could move to Canada together.

My issue is, if I email them and say I'm getting married, but within this 30-day period, what will happen? Will I be given the PR visa alone? or will they include her in my application? Will it complicate things and reduce my chance of getting the PR ? Should I get the PR myself and then sponsor her?

I'd appreciate any comments, help or advice you guys might have.

Inform them about your marriage. They will ask for a few additional documents and add your wife to the current application. Once your wife passes medicals and background checks they will ask you to resend both passports.

He is 6 months away from wedding. Does it work for engaged couples also?

In my opinion you need to sponsor your spouse once you are PR and residing in Cananda. You can apply for her visitor visa to bring her with you and then apply for PR.

@cansha is correct. You can't add your partner to your application now if you are getting married next year, unless you are already in a common law relationship.
You'll need to sponsor her later.

Also, even if OP was in common law relationship I think it will raise more questions why he wants to add common law partner now after PPR and did not add before in the application.

Technically it's possible since it takes 12 months to form the relationship.

I didn't see the 6 month part. But he can add to the application if he has not landed yet. He would need to inform cic about his marriage before landing.
