I am filing my Personal History and need help to fill details of my employment. I worked for a Company A but I worked in two offices of this company in two different cities. Should I split the personal history to show employment in these 2 cities with the same employer?

The answer would depend on your answers to the question below:

1. Was it an official job change including new title/duties etc.?
2. Was it a material job location change (i.e. NOT counting situations where location B is just another location you visit, and location A was still your primary location where you came back to.)

If answer to any one above is a yes then I would recommend stating the two as separate entries.

Thanks for your response. It was a material job location change. So I believe I need to split it into two separate entries but then I have only one employee reference letter since it is the same employer and also the letter does not mention any location. Any advice on that?

No reference needed if it's in your personal history section. You only need to provide reference for jobs listed in work history.

I have had a situation where the material change was in job title (officially updated in global job code). So basically my employer gave me a single letter. with all the facts as requested by CIC, with the caveat that for the job title field, it stated two titles and mentioned the dates the titles were held.

This was not in my personal history, it was in my main job (primary noc)

When uploading the documentation, since this was my main job, I had two placeholders to upload job reference letters. I uplaoded the same PDF and explained in my LoE the situation.

Correct ... @canadalove85 .. please take note, if this is your work documentation, for which you are claiming points, only then would you need the work reference letters. Also, I think, if it is for work history, it does not technically ask for location. so I am presuming that this is a situation where you have only one entry for work history, but two entries for personal history since personal history asks for location.

But if you do not have this employer/role in your work history section (not claiming points for this work, thus only in personal history), then I would not suggest attaching work reference letters.

I am claiming points for this work. So my situation is while creating EE profile and In my work history section I have this work experience noted as 1 line item. However, when I started to fill the personal history I realized that I may need to split it because of location change.

So is this OK if I have one line item in work history (against this I will upload the reference letter.) and in the personal history section I have 2 line items with different locations but same company?

In the work history section, does the form ask for work location?

hmmm. Technically, I would keep the work and personal history sections aligned.

I think (I think) that you may be able to modfiy work history section now to reflect this update, and provide a suitable explanation in your LoE as to why you are changing the details of your application post ITA, along with a reason of why you think this does not affect your CRS points.

To clarify, not a legal expert here, but I think you might find examples of post ITA modifications in the forums here... see those & review as well.

hi,
i know this is an old post, i hope u wld still able to read/answer this:

i've spent 8 days in another country (work-related), then went back to my current residence where i work.
question: do i list this 8 days in personal history separately or would still be under employment entry?

question 2: if i am currently employed and have traveled 7 days to another country (say for a holiday), should this be also included in personal history?

anyone can answer pls, thanks

This only goes in travel history. Neither in work history nor in personal history.

Thank you :)
I also had a longer, 3-month assignment to another country then back to main ofc. I made another entry for that 3 mos separately in Personal History.
