Hi,

I have received my passport request 15 days ago and i am getting married in 3 months. I mailed them regarding the change of status but have received no response yet. I have 15 days left to submit my passport.

Should i go ahead and submit my passport anyways.

Note: i will be leaving the country i reside in in 2 months for my wedding and will need my passport by then. I hope they wont take longer than 1.5 months to return my passport. Any idea on such timelines?

As your marriage will be after you get your PR visa. You can't add to existing application. You need to sponsor after marriage.

Then I would say submit your passport and let the process continue. Once you are married inform them and they will as for marriage certificate, photos of wedding, your spouse passport etc and you will be again asked to send your passports. The existing visa will be cancelled and you will be reissued a new visa and copr for both.
currently if you wait you run the risk of running out of 30 days time and cancelling of your application.

Hi,

So i sent them my passports and now i just received an update that i should submit all my marital change documents within the next 30 days. I have responded to them that it will not be possible as i am going to get married after 90 days.

Also, they have my passport and i will need it back in a months time. Hope they change my status on the application back to normal!

Hi,

Does anyone have an idea on what the next steps will be? Will they reverse the status change and continue processing my application?

Also, will they hold on to my passport meanwhile or return it?

I have contacted them through the webform as i have been unable to get in touch with them on the phone. Would that be good enough?

Thanks

So i received my passport back and stamped but the section for spouse details and requirement of additional documents is still showing up on the application as additional information required.

I had mailed them mentioning that there is no change in status right now and it will be after i get married and therefore my application was re opened wrongly. I havent yet received a response.

Does anyone have any idea as to if i should:
1) submit an LOE in the required slot for upload of documents
2) provide all documents of my wife to be except for the marriage documents that arent available
3) do not upload any documents and let the submission date expire and hope they will not cancel my PR

Thanks!

check if your visa is still valid in the document counterfoil section of your profile. there is a document status field.

The visa still says valid. But i have another 15 days to submit my additional spouse documents. I am worried about whether it will be cancelled after that deadline passes.

what spouse? you dont have a spouse. in the ADR document write that you are not married yet and upload it. after that all you can do is wait for their response.

Thanks for the advice. I will go ahead and do that!
So i got a response from IRCC saying the following:

Please be advised that you must complete the landing process BEFORE you are married. If you attempt to land in Canada AFTER your marriage, your documents will be invalid for landing as your spouse would need to be added to your application.

I hope this means i can still add my spouse after i am married (as i am not able to travel to canada before that) and then wait for them to re issue my visa together with my spouses.

Anyones interpretation and clarifications will help.

This means that you need to land in Canada before your marriage and would be required to sponsor the spouse after your marriage. Otherwise, I hope you have enough time to do that if you plan to land after getting married.

What exactly do you mean by "Otherwise, I hope you have enough time to do that if you plan to land after getting married"?

Does their communication mean i am able to add my spouse after i get married?
