Hello,

I am currently in the process of uploading documents for my express entry visa application. My common-law partner is a Canadian citizen and passport holder, so I assumed did not require any supporting documents for police checks, medicals, proof of family members etc.

The online application has a section for her documents despite the fact she is a citizen, should I just upload her passport and a letter of explanation for each of the sections where it asks for documents not required? Presumably I am only required to upload a copy of her passport and all other documents are void?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not overly familiar with the Express Entry document submission but if you have declared her as a foreign national dependent, rather than as a family member, might that be the reason for the unnecessary document requests?

Thanks for your reply.

I’m not sure to be honest, it asks if she is a Canadian citizen to which we replied yes obviously, however still seems to be looking for police certificates etc. I think I will just upload a LOE and copies of her passport and birth certificate for her document section unless anyone thinks otherwise?

Can’t see why she would need a medical or police certificate if she is already a citizen I the country as she doesn’t need to prove eligibility.

No, that's the appropriate approach, she does not need to do medicals or get a PCC.
