Family PR points

I received ITA basis extra points as my Brother in law is a PR holder and living in Toronto for the past 3 years.
I submitted his docs- PR card, passport and driving licence.
Will CIC get in touch with him while verification???

Also my brother immigrated in July this year and now has his PR card and DL... Should I upfupd this in my profile???

I believe points can only be obtained if there exists a blood relation.

Brother in law is blood relative of spouse, so that works.
