Hi everybody
,
I hope that all of you are well.
I am having an issue with my Express Entry Profile. I will try to give all the details here. I am 29 years old with 2 years experience on NOC2141 A in Brazil + 6 months NOC 1221 (part time - 24 hours) & 6 months as 1226 (full time - 40 hours) here in Canada. Both NOC. I know that to use this experience I need not only hours but complete 1-year experience. I have hours (1664 total) and I just complete one year. So theoretically I will be eligible for the Canadian Experience Class.
I have a graduation in Brazil and I have a document from WES, which recognizes my course as a 4-year Engineer course here. I took IELTS and my score was: S: 7.5; L: 7,5; R: 8,0 W: 6, which means that my CLB =7.
Because I don`t have a family I input that I have $14000 CAN to afford my costs here, which is bigger than $12,750 (minimum required for a person).
On the CRS calculator I have 470 points. However, when I apply I receive an email telling me that I AM NOT ELIGIBLE FOR ANY PROGRAM.
I check all number (ECA from WES and IELTS report and they are correct). I also checked my UCI from my prior documents - work permit, study permit, etc)HOWEVER I NOTICED THAT WHEN I RECEIVE THE MESSAGE BACK FROM EXPRESS ENTRY THEY DID NOT INCLUDE MINE UCI.
I am asking my friends but they don`t have idea why none of my points are being calculated. I receive only the message telling that I am not eligible.
Based on that, would someone please help me? I have a tight time to complete my profile.
I really appreciate.

Either Your foreign work experience should be 1 year(full time- 30hr/week) continuous or equivalent in part time(15hrs/week) and in the same NOC
Or
Your Canadian experience should be for minimum 1 year. This does not need to be continuous but it has to complete 1 year or equivalent

Any hours beyond 30hrs/week for full time and 15hrs/week part time will not be counted

Also check what’s your Minimum eligibility criteria score (MEC) score .... is it 67 or above ?

Foreign Experience - 2 years - Continuous - Same NOC - 44 hours/week
Canadian Experience - Will complete one year on 10/16 - Average >30 hours week . Because you don`t include a day on the form, I am not sure if this will be the problem. Continuous

About the minimum eligibility criteria I am having a hard time to calculate.
Total:

CLB 7 = 16 points
Education = 1 year course in Canada + 5 years course in Brazil (WES) = 4 years course - 25 Points (?)
Work Experience = 1 year in Canada + 2 years and 7 months in Brazil > 3 years = 11 points
Age - 29 = 12 points
Adaptability - 1 year work experience in Canada - 10 points

Total: 74 Points ( Please let me know if I am wrong)

Hi bimale4bipeople You got this partially wrong. Part time work is not restricted to 15 hour per week, it can be any number below 30 hours per week. I have personal experience regarding this and here is the official confirmation-

"For part-time work, you can work more or less than 15 hours/week as long as it adds up to 1,560 hours. We don’t count any hours you work above 30 hours/week."

Hi @higodinho as per my calculation, unfortunately you do not score 67 eligibility points.
Your score for FSW- 66 points and for CEC- 55 points. Below is the break down-

Federal Skilled Worker class-
Language: 21 Points (Listening CLB8- 5 points, Reading CLB9- 6 points, Writing CLB7- 4 points and Speaking CLB9- 6 points)
Age:12 points
Education: 22 points (Two or more certificates, diplomas or degrees one must be 3 or more years long)
Work Experience: 11 points (2-3 years)
Adaptability: 0 points
Total: 66 points.

Canadian Experience Class-
Language: 21 Points (Listening CLB8- 5 points, Reading CLB9- 6 points, Writing CLB7- 4 points and Speaking CLB9- 6 points)
Age:12 points
Education: 22 points (Two or more certificates, diplomas or degrees one must be 3 or more years long)
Work Experience: 0 points
Adaptability: 0 points
Total: 55 points.

Reason for Canadian work experience 0 points: To claim Canadian work experience points you need at least one year Full time accumulated work experience in last 3 years before application in Canada.

You have done 6 months NOC 1221 (part time - 24 hours) which is equal to 4.43 months full time work experience.
Calculation:
1 month full time = 1560 hours/12 months = 130 hours per month
24 hours x 24 weeks = 576 hours
6 months part time = 576/130 = 4.43 months full time

You have 6 months as 1226 (full time - 40 hours). IRCC do not count more than 30 hours per week. In this job you have 6 months full time experience.

So in total you have 6 + 4.43 = 10.43 months full time work experience in Canada thus you have 0 Canadian work experience points and also 0 adaptability points.

Reason for Adaptability 0 points: To claim 10 (maximum) or 5 adaptability points, as you are a single applicant, You must have either-

1. You must complete at least 2 academic years of full-time study (in a program at least 2 years long) at a secondary or post-secondary school in Canada. (5 adaptability points)
2. At least one year valid work experience (work experiences during full time study do not count) at Skill Type 0 or Skill Levels A or B of the National Occupational Classification (NOC). (10 adaptability points)
3. Have a PR/Citizen relative (5 adaptability points)
4. Arranged employment which must meet IRCC criteria, (5 adaptability points)

Advice to score 67 points in FSW class: retake IELTS and score clb 9 in either writing (ielts 7) or listening (ielts 8) or both, you will get another 1-3 points.
Advice to score 67 points in CEC class: work another 2 months full time and be eligible with work experience points and adaptability points.

Hope it helps you and others.
All the best.

Hi @ishq74, THANKS A LOT FOR YOUR RESPONSE.

I understood your thought and I agree with it. But I would like to point out the following points just to make sure that we are on the same page:

1) Canadian Work Experience - 0 points
To calculate;
6 months Part Time = 26 weeks (not 24) --> 24*26 = 624/130 =4.8 (which means 4 anyways)
6 months Full Time = 6 months
Total: 10.8 months (as you said I need two more months)!

The second point is: For the Canadian Experience Class you include my Work Experience 0. This is because for this program your foreign experience does not count at all, right?

My issue is: My work permit expires 02/11, which means that I will need one month more. Is that possible to extend my PGWP, just to "gain: an extra month. I know for a fact that will be refused, but I can earn one more month and do my application. If yes, how would be the process?

IELTS is another option but because of my short time I think that I would be able to make it.

Thanks again @ishq74

1. Yes you need two more months to complete one year Canadian work experience
2. Foreign work experience will come into consideration for Federal Skilled Worker Class, for Canadian Experience Class you need minimum one year Canadian work experience.
3. If you apply for work permit extension and get refused, I am not sure whether work experience during that period will be counted or not. You should contact @DelPiero07 for clarification about this as I am from outside Canada and not much informed about Canadian Experience Class.

Good Luck!
