Getting an extra Diploma VS learning French from scratch

Hello everyone.

My overall points are 385. I'm planning to redo the IELTS again to get that extra 0.5, or even more, in writing (L: 9 R:9 S:7 W:6.5) once I pinpoint my mistakes.

But now, I'm panicking a little bit since I'm going to be 29 and time is ticking for me to lose a decent amount of age points.

Once I'm done with IELTS, I'm thinking about either getting an accredited online Diploma to boost my score since I will have 2 degrees then. Or I could start learning French from almost scratch.

What do you think?

Thanks.

That score is pretty low. How many years of experience do you have?

I would not recommend going for French as a lot of French speakers on this forum have stated that the test is quite difficult. I would recommend going for a 1 year post graduate program instead.

Learning french from scratch is not easy. The easier option would be to enroll in a distance one year diploma.

I've more than 5 years.

Do you know about any accredited online Diplomas?

Thank you.

Firstly, Yes, definitely retake the IELTS and aim for at least a Band 7 in Writing. That will give you even more points for language proficiency. I think you're missing out on some 30 points just with that!
Second, it will take you ages to learn French from scratch, to get to B1 (CLB5) level to barely get 4 additional points as second language out of possible 22 points with CLB9. Not easy...

Third, would totally suggest to go for another degree. Much quicker and will get a fair amount of additional points.

I suggest that you buy Ryan Higgins writing books and simon Udemy training course. That will make you reach 7-7.5 band in writing.

Thank you for your kind reply. Do you have any idea about an accredited distance learning institution, which could boost me up in a year or so?

Well I'm not sure to be honest, it really depends on your budget and what program exactly you want to get.
I'm sure some good old online research will get you the answer.
