you mean a specific degree as a translator?
I have a Bachelor's in another field. Can I still claim this work experience?
You do need:
A degree in translation with a specialization in translation, interpretation or terminology in two languages including at least one of the two official languages
OR
A university degree in a related discipline such as languages, linguistics, philology and courses in linguistic transfer and two years' experience as a full-time translator working in two languages, at least one of which is an official language
OR IN YOUR CASE PARTICULARY
Five years of experience as a full-time translator working in two languages, at least one of which is an official language
, are required.

If you have at least 5 years in the profession even you have degree in unrelated field, you can claim points for it.
Note that by at least one official language, they mean English or French.

I see.. so basically I cannot claim points as I have worked for half a year only as a translator, altough I am fluent in 4 languages. That's kind of stupid.
What if I worked in a different noc from what my degree is, seems like I cannot claim the points and immigrate.

Firstly, is the translation experience the only experience you have? If so, you couldn't have used it anyway as your primary NOC, as you need at least one full year of continuous work experience in one given NOC (and some other requirements as well...). Unfortunately, you only held this position for half a year.

So, I'm afraid if that's the case, you cannot use your translation experience to immigrate. Unless you have another 1-year of continuous experience....

Do you have any other experiences that you had for at least one year (1560 Hours)?

I do have other work experience.
Next month I will have 3 full years as a 3d artist, 2 years of which are continues in the same company(falls under NOC 5241). But Until then, I will miss around 3-4 draws, that's why I thought that my translator experience would help me.
But maybe it's actually safer to wait for a month without taking any risks to get rejected in case of some problems with the translator experience. Although I read on this forum that CIC explicitly states that you do not need to meet the education requirements of the NOC.

"Note: The applicant does not need to demonstrate that they meet the “employment requirements” listed in the NOC occupational description."

Yes that's very true. No need to demonstrate as they say, but I did hear cases with a consultant where the officer questioned the experience based on the fact that the applicant has a degree too far from an advanced occupation, or no college degree at all (just high school).

But hey, since you already have some previous work years, you can put NOC5241 as primary NOC, which fulfils the one year continuity minimum (got 2 years there). If you want, you can accumulate work years in another NOC, as long as the 1-year minimum is in just one NOC. So you can go ahead and do that now, no need to wait! You'll then have points for 2 years. Check the CRS tool and see where you stand with 2 years.
